My sons blaster had the chain jump off, besides losing two teeth on sprocket it will not move under power. I can feel the difference between nuetral and first gear when manually turning sprocket but when I put on chain it will not move. Also when in gear I can roll rear wheels if that means anything. Any help would be appreciated, I just put 565$ in motor rebuild last spring and I dont know if the bike is worth dumping alot more into. Thanks

Check the splines on The shaft that the front sprocket sits on, I've had them go on a quad before, and also the the axle...

Sorry-Had to edit because of my phones auto correct -.-

Make sure the rear sprocket hub isn't stripped. Sounds like a possible clutch issue though

Pull the clutch cover and take a look around!

wait am i getting this right...you can rotate the sprocket and get gears, you can also rotate the back wheels seperately but when you link the two it doesnt move?

That doesnt make sense. only thing i can think of is that without the wheels you have very little mechanical advantage on the sprocket and you may not have enough on it to detect a problem. when you hook up the whels and get the leverage, it shows.

What happens when you gentle depress the kicker? does it turn the motor over in gear and rotate the sprocket?

Also dont forget that when in gear, rotating the wheels trying to turn the sprocket you are in fact pushing againt the motors compression and thus may feel "locked" but is in actual fact normal. take the spark plug out and try this all...it will be much easier to turn things

I hear ya, i read that four times and still not sure what is going on. but he says he can rool rear wheels in gear???????

Yes, when the chain is on I can tell the difference between neutral and first gear, I can roll in either one, but when it is in gear( i think ) it does roll harder, but it does move. I have taken off the clutch cover and removed sprocket. when i replaced it i can feel and hear it like it is going in gear. When running i tried to move and with clutch cover off i could see chain and sprocket roll forward (or turn) about a quarter inch and thats all.

i think what he is trying to say is that when he turns the sprocket by hand it moves freely in nuetral and has some draw on it when in gear but doesnt turn the motor over like it should then when he puts the chain and tires back on starts it up and puts it in gear it wont move but if the chain isnt on the sprocket will spin when in gear... sounds to me like a clutch problem or your splines are messed up on the sprocket see if (with the chain on) the inner shaft spins without the sprocket while it is running in gear if not check your clutch it may either need to be adjusted so it grabs harder or it is shot and needs to be replaced

just came back from barn, got it running and picked back end up and put in gear, tires turned and i went through gears. Maybe some kind of clutch problem?

I agree, sounds like clutch plates to me as well. Maybe you could (please, for the love of god do it carefully) put it in low gear, let out the clutch, get off and try easing it along. My guess is it will be easier to roll forward than when in neutral, which is indicative of bad clutch plates. I guess if the clutch was really shot it would be like it was in neutral, but I think it'd get some movement.

Check the clutch adjustment before you get too excited, but Probably a clutch issue as stated much earlier

using Motul Traansoil 40wgt. Anyway to check if clutch is out of adjustment before I try to tear apart? My son noticed that the hand squeeze had a lot of extra play in it after this happened, I dont know if that would mean anything or not, but you all seem to know what you are talking about and I dont so any help is greatly appreciated!

take the clutch cover off, and make sure that the 5 bolts that hold the springs down are still there and tight. then double check the adjustment

well my moto4 225 clutch went out and it would move but at full throttel it would only go 2mph

With a fresh motor unless the rest of it is totally junk it's worth fixing. What exactly happened that the front sprocket lost teeth? X-2 on pulling clutch cover. Other than things mentioned could have lunched the basket.
