did it just start doing this after you put in the fresh piston and rings?

I bought it blown up it has hot rods crank I I bought a new 240 piston and rings kit put it in an it smoked up the neighborhood. I did not do any test bike did sit for a few years before I rebuilt it

Is it a 0.040 over piston, or a true 240 kit? A lot of people are under the wrong impression that their blaster is a 240 because it's bored "40 over". A 0.040 over piston will give you. About 201cc with a stock stroke crank.

Do some more reading on here in the engine section, download the service manual, and that will help you get a little more familiar with your Blaster.

yes it is a 240 Vito's bore kit 72 mm with hot rod crank. I built 10 blasters just never had white smoke like this, I did notice the head did not have the 2 Dowel Pins that go between the head and bottom end will that cause gear oil to burn if the dowel pins are not there?

For gear oil to burn, you either have a bad crank seal or a leak in the cases allowing it to come into the crank case.

I see a hot rods connecting rod on your crank, and I see a Phillips head case bolt I highlighted. Those cases were split before, and there really isn't any good way to tourque a phillips head screw down. Do a leakdown test, that's the only way to tell where your getting gear oil in from.

One more question before I put the top end on I squirted gear oil on the crank and rod is that Ok? Also here is a pic of the oil just pouring out my exhaust smells just like motor oil

I also did toque down the screws while running it when the oil with dripping from my exhaust on to my block I did see bubbling bubbles from the split after I torqued them down more I did not see the bubbles anymore but oil still comes out this exhaust

Do you mean that you put GEAR oil into the crankcase.

It is ok to squirt a little 2 stroke oil in the case, but not gear oil.

How much did you squirt in, and was it gear oil.

Oil coming out from the the exhaust flange means that you have a leak there, you should fix the leak before you run it again.

The excessive smoke could just be a build up of oil in the system from the assembly process.

Take Dirtysquared's advice and leak test just to make sure that the crankshaft seals are good.

yes I squirted gear oil in it I don't know what I was thinking, should I take part an turn the engine upside down to get it out? I have been running it today just letting it idle when I hit the gas it runs good starts first kick and is starting to smoke less then what it was the more I let it idol and not as much oil is coming out of the exhaust. Below is the picture of the gear oil I squirted in

It should not hurt much to run it now, it is possibly smoking because of the burning of oil already in the header.

The oil will eventually be purged out and burn off.

You need to fix the exhaust leak it affect the jetting.

i see some things not so great but,, the green base gasket,it is recommended to use oem or cometic base gasket, also the gear oil should not have been put into crank assembly,of course it will smoke cuz it is not made to burn:)...finaly if you are putting that same gear oil in your tranny, you might want to switch that to some 10w 30w.
The 85 weight is good for your gears but not so good for your clutch. When yamaha made that blaster it did not come with 85w oil in tranny :)

check your trans fluid level in the sight glass, if it's not dropping it's not burning it.

Stopped smoking 100% except a little blue because I always put a drop of extra oil in the mix especially when I rebuild them but I hear the bottom end is mabe louder then normal, it does have a hot rod crank. My blue 06 did the same thing also & it also had a hot rods crank is that noise normal? Just seems a little loud I will post a video in a few minutes.
Thanks for a the help

Are you aware that adding extra oil to the mix will lean out the AFR and can cause overheating of the piston!

No extra oil is needed for break in, it can do more harm than good.

The very last thing that you need is a lean mix at break in!
