Wow! I feel like an idiot, found it, changed it....same size! If I would just open my damn eyes! Haha.... also note the screwdriver points the the washer under the main jet least I don't have to hunt it down....lol
Place the bottom bearing over a hole and insert a bar from the top to pick up the lip of the bottom bearing and tap the bearing at 180deg intervals and it should drop into the hole.
You can put the hub back on the wheel to give you a stable platform to work on. You can add a little heat to make it easier. I used a blind bearing puller.
I'm just everywhere on this project, today I decided to redo the frame with some metal cast anodized red, 2 stage paint....first silver base that's real glittery then the bright red...finished with a can of clear...here's how it turned out.
So I was just wondering, thought about having the head powder coated as well, how much would this hold heat in, and would/could it harm anything? Also engine has never been ran since I've gotten it back....so if I took the head off, would I need to replace the copper gasket, or is it okay to re-torque to 20ft lbs and be okay?
Finally got some of my parts back from powdercoating, I went a bit crazy but I did dormant purple...here's what it looks like..my wife hates it, but I like it cuz its different....very different
I personnaly wouldnt have pc,d the head. I dont think it will disipate heat as well. Pc is much thicker than paint. How much will it hold in heat, will it be a allot, would it hurt anything? Maybe get one of those infared temp guns and keep an eye on things. As far as the old head gasket, you can re use it but you will need to anneal it. A new one would be best but i have reused them after annealing and havnt ever had a problem.
Yea I'm just going to keep an eye on it... I waited for someone to respond to my question before I did it, but push came to shove I had to get it done so I'm just going to have to monitor it with a infrared thermometer and keep up with it....couldn't I just run it a little rich if it begins to run hot?
Just finished up putting most of my blaster back together today.... just waiting to get some 110 and 93, so I gotta save cuz its a 5 gallon minimum where I live...and @12.99/gal... gas alone fares a hefty dose of my weekly play money....just a few more odds and ends before I get to fire it up!....here's a few pics of the progress....
Those few purple accents are stellar especially because you have that black with it and the compliment each other well. Although I'm not quite sure how the coated head will affect things. It be cool if you had a heat gun and monitored temps and compare to what it would usually run.
Thanks! I plan on using a thermocouple off my fieldpiece meter and attaching it between the fins to get a more accurate reading....I'll post some pics so you can see what I did...hopefully sometime this weekend
You should paint the shock springs purple too !!
Yeah that sounds like it'll give you a good base line temp reading. It be nice if someone ran the same set up on theirs to see how it compares.
My first instincts tell me the the power coat would trap heat in so I'd probably recommend not running it very hard/long the first few times it runs until you know exactly how the PC affects everything.
