Been tinkering with this thing over the past couple months, heres just a couple before/after pics, couldn't ever decide a color, but ended up with this instead. Still working on getting it all back together, tying up loose wiring ect, more to follow
Thanks, To be honest not sure on swingarm, other than its plus 4, and so is the axle, was told it was dura blue brand, RAD carrier, and at the time I was building the frame up a while back, didnt have money for hydraulics, so welded the old school brakes up on it, just ready to throw a leg over it, believe it or not this is like the third time the motor has been started since KOR built it in 2015. I'm kinda skittish on riding yet because I'm not sure if its had a enough heat cycles, ita been a while, trying to remember everything I learned years back. It sure does sound nice though these few timesThat's sick that you are back at it.
Which swing arm, carrier, axle and all this are you running?
And are you usuig hydraulic brake in the back with the rubber things in the axle at the brake?
Well, I bought the 36mm airstriker carb off the "13k Blaster" from Ken, it was setup on that bike which is similiar to my build, but I rode it down the road yesterday, kinda boggy, feels like it needs to be a bit crisper, anyone have any base line setting to start with, I ride at sea level, but for tuning purposes, I tune where I live at 15 feet, not sure if that would make much difference..Ride it and enjoy. First tank of fuel don't ride it like you stole it. That's your break in period. is jetting correct?
I never really hit the throttle much, may have been loading up because I was nervous to start the bike to begin with, or even give it much gas, here a few pics I took previously of the jets, may need to grab a few more to play around withWhat part of the throttle is it boggy?
You need to jet it to your bike. And plug chop to confirm.
What size jets are in it now?
The temps were close to 70 last weekend when I started it and rode up and down the road, I took the plug out after that immediate ride, plug was dry looking, but I didnt do any sort of plug chop, I think the needle reads BEN but it's been a while since I looked at it, I need to recheck again...this carb was already set up on that blaster I mentioned before, I'm sure I need to do my own rejetting tho, I'll check later on the needle info and get back to you this evening when I get home from work...Definitely set rich.
The needle clip is in the 4th position out of 5
Thats a richer setting.
The 178 main is pretty big. Unless temps are down there?
Whats plug look like?
What's the letters on the needle dgh?
Write down how it is setup now jets clip position temp outside. So I checked the carb, it has a #6 slide, the needle has BEN stamped on the side, 178 main and a 48 pilot, is this a good starting point or do I need to buy a different needle, jets ect.. I noticed you mentioned a specific needle one other day, is that a common starting point?
So do you think the needle is okay? No need to change? I'll grab a few jets down and go from there, and play with the needle clip settings some more and see what I come up with..Write down how it is setup now jets clip position temp outside.
Try needle in the middle position.the 178 still seems big? I run a 162 at 85 degrees outside
Buy. Some plugs , and genuine jets from jetsrus or sudco
