so the ESR one is like DOUBLE the cost of the hotrods. is there a big concern with the hotrods not being balanced? do you have to otherwise have it balanced somehow? I see the ESR one seems to be balanced as per their description. just not sure what the biggest differences will be... gonna ask on exriders in the 250r section as well. but I get alot quicker responses here and guys here have 250r's anyway :) thanks!

well, I found a jug/top end, 1mm over so 67mm, w/PTR power head, dune ported and for a +4 stroker.

so I'm building the motor around that. all I really need is a +4 crank. so not much to ask a build house about a +4 crank for someone else's ported jug lol. crankworks was suggested to me on exriders, and they sell hotrod cranks (hotrods were recommended over ESR) but one of the guys said he got 2 out of true hotrod cranks, so recommended to get it checked for true, so I emailed crankworks on price of balance and check the true on a +4 hotrods crank thru them. so I may get that if it's not too bad to check true and balance it. but balance refers to the piston weight, so do I need to send them my piston or something to balance it?

For a TRULY balanced assembly, of course. Then again, if they know the standard weight of the piston you are using, maybe it's not that big of a deal. It's not like you have eiht of them flying around in there. Seriously tho, wouldn't this be a better question for your builder/supplier? (crankworks)

eh, I'm debating just getting hotrods +4 and not truing it is why I made this post.

I have no engine builder. I'm buying a pre dune ported top w/cool head made for a +4 crank. all I'm sourcing is the crank, spacer plate and c-clips... so hardly a motor builder besides my buddy and me... so... other than asking myself and him, I'm trying to find somehow it will be ok to just get a stroker crank off ebay per say and to just put it in and go lol

alot of the 250r die hards dont like the hotrod 4mill strokers ,they prefer modifed versions
personally i havent had too much problem with them and either way you cant go wrong ,for the money hotrods is not as bad as people say and hold up about the same
