Today I pulled my clutch cover off to remove the cursed injector gear out and everything came off as its suoppsed to. Im going to order a block off plate, but I noticed there is a steel shaft where the injector drive went through. Am I supposed to remove it? I pulled on it with plyers and it wouldnt budge.I noticed the block off plates look almost flat?Could the shaft back up into the crankcase?:o That would be catastophic lol Thanks in advance

That shaft has a gear wheel affixed to the other side of the case, and whilst removal is recommended it can be left there if you fear taking the case off.

When my block off kit arrived the wrong parts were supplied and I had no way of fitting the plate, so in desperation I left the shaft in place.

I took off the gear wheel it's the hollow shaft that had the gear going through it that the white plastic gear was connected too( hope that makes sense)

I had problems at that point, the plate supplied with the kit did not fit. I had to leave the drive shaft in mine to stop oil getting out.

It was a while ago, and from memory I just removed a circlip, gear wheel and drive pin and left the shaft in place.

I know exactly what you are talking about. This shaft guide presses out of the engine side cover. If memory serves me correctly, you have to take a punch and drive it out the oil pump side of the cover. Once the pump has been removed, the shaft guide will press right out.

You have to remove it in order to install the block-off plate. This shaft guide is pressed in well-enough that it won't come out due to regular vibration, but it will surrender no problem after a couple firm blows with a hammer.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I'm not going to pull the clutch cover off again and drain the fresh oil I put in but I think I can get it out of there. Thanks again, good lookin quad you got there

Thanks! There's lots of hard work put in my daily-rider, and its nowhere near the nicest one on here.

I'm happy to help.... Worst case scenario with your Blaster, you can leave the bushing in there and just run a self-tapping screw down the center hole where the oil pump shaft went to seal it off. I'd pull the clutch cover again if needed (save the fresh oil and just re-use it), but the screw trick will work if you don't want to take the cover off at the moment.

just take the clutch cover off, remove the plastic gear and clip and take the shaft out. when i did it to mine it came right out with ease
