So I recently bought a 2006 Special Edition Blaster It starts first kick and runs great (well not anymore) I decided to change all the fluids I changed the engine oil and 2 stroke oil and I had also drained the gas because it had been sitting for awhile... So I gased it up and filled all the fluids to proper level and started it up only to get a ton of white smoke and engine is making a loud rough banging/knocking noise... It ran fine before I changed my fluids?!? Whats going on!?
Today I mixed my oil and gas just incase oil injector was shot and it didnt help at all...
Please Help, Thanks

so you are saying it didnt make much noise and now it does? aircooled motors are noisy by nature, its probally going to run like crap untill you change the gas if you have it premixed and the injector is still hooked up.

crank seals, drain our trans oil tomaro and put like 550 ml in drive around a little and it will stop smokin and ur power will come back this is because u put to much oil in and if that doesnt work than ur crank seals are shot if it is ur lucky ur on a blaster because u dont have to split the case to change them its behind the gear on the clutch side and there pretty cheap!!

how much oil did you put in the crank case? it calls for 650 ml which is a little over half a quart. also what kind of oil did you put in the oil tank?

dont let this be you. trust me it sucks just as bad as it looks.

Yes I am going to try and get a vid up Im just kinda new to this forum, and i am going to drain the oil and put in correct amount because I def put a little 2 much in im sure... And I forget what kind it was what is the correct kind? 10w30 right?

there is nothing wrong with using car oil its exactly what it says in the manual. and if you premixed gas and you left oil injection on you are getting way too much oil that is why it is smoking and running like crap. you can't premix and leave the injector on cause you are adding oil to gas that already has the right amount of oil

Ok well today I drained mixed gas and put new gas in because I have oil injector still hooked up and I drained oil and put 550 ml and drove around and it didnt help... I am gonna change the crank seals in the a.m and hope that helps

derek, you cannot use car oil and that is not what it says in the manual. For engine using wet clutches containing paper you have to use JASO MA rated oil. Shell Rotella T 15w-40 is probably the easiest to find motor oil that's compatible with a wet clutch. You can find it at most any auto parts store and it's cheap! Like $15 for a gallon.

Car engine oils have "friction modifiers" in them, mainly sulfur and phosphorus compounds which will cake in between the plates causing them to stick. Ever come back to your blaster after a month or so and had to rock the quad to get the clutch to let go so you could start it? That's the fiber plates sticking and not sliding between the steel plates. Not good....

There are several options to use other rotella oil though. If you prefer quart size and price isn't such an issue, Bel-ray gear saver is very good. If price is a point, dextron mercon III automatic transmission fluid is a fine choice. That's what I'm running in my bottom end. It lube the gears while keeping the clutch fiber plates from slipping or sticking.

Ya im going to change the oil and probably pick up some yamalube when I get the crank seals, but before any of this im going to upload a video in a few... whats the best way to put a vid up?
