on my little 79' suzuki jr 50 2 stroke, im cleaning the carb and i can seem to figure out what one is the idle screw and what is the air screw? the idle screw had a spring on it and i thought the air was supposed to have a spring? ill get a pic in a second

i fugured it out, but i have a new problem i cant get it to idle unless i sit there and keep revving the crap out of it, i went for a small ride and it rode fine. i cleaned the carb very good, float is perfectly set, airfilter is brand new and clean, tranny oil is newly changed, compression is at 120psi, it has brand new gas, and brand new oil in injector. after revving it for 2 minutes and taking it for a 20 second ride the plug is dark brown and dry...

Pilot jet may be clogged. Doesn't matter how well you think you've cleaned it...the small metering hole can plug up beyond repair. Ive thrown a couple pilot jets away that an ultrasonic cleaning and half a can of carb cleaner wouldn't clean out.

Id pull the pilot and recheck it. Also, the idle speed screw has a blunt (rounded) tip. The airscrew usually has a more narrow, pointed tip. If you accidentally switched them, the engine won't idle properly.
