im gonning to be buying these wheels off ebay soon and the guy says that one wheel is damaged by improper bead breakin and cracked he says its been profsionaly repaired and what they did was weld the crack back together just wondering if this would make it weaker only going to be for trails so doesnt have to be that strong

no way would i buy a cracked wheel... and teh guy sound like he is a bullshit artist, how can setting a bead crack a rim unless you call beating the hell out of it with a hammer trying to get the bead to pop "improper bead seating" 8-| 8-|

noober he was breaking the bead, not setting. Either way I don't see they f'ed it up, unless it was softer aluminium. In either case if I didn't know who did the work then I would stay clear. Usually at lower pressures that you run with atv tires I wouldn't be all that worried about a blow out unless it was aluminium and some really ugly welding, but I would be more worried about failures on the trails, and just general leaks.
