whats the best type of rear shock?

im lookin to get a new rear shock but not looking to spend a lot of money or do a lot of mods puttin it in. i ride mostly on tight trails and in mud. any ideas would be helpful

400ex,Z400,rear shock. You can use a trx 250r rear shock to but harder to find a good one at a good price.

You can also use a trx450r rear shock. It's the same length eye to eye as the blaster shock. You will need Ken O'Connor's bushings for all these shocks.

Forgot to add, you will have to get custom upper mounting bushings from O'Conner racing. You will have to drill the lower mounting hole bigger to fit the pin.

For the $, you can not beat a 400ex rear shock. I found mine for $20 on CL and then another $20 for the Ken O'connor bushings. This mod made a HUGE DIFFERENCE!

I got a trx 250r shock for mine for 45 or 50 on ebay. HUGE improvement

Va native!! I think the yfz 450 will for sure bump up the back idk no the diffs both are good shocks get the one with the best deal..

I think the 400 and 450 perform the same. Not sure see I have not run both.

This is so true!

A got mine for 30 on ebay and it looked brand new used kens bushings and it rides like a dream.
