What changes do I have to do?

If the hole is not blocked off it will allow free passage of air from the uppermost parts of the carb.

If a cap comes loose or the cable does not make a good seal it could result in a lean mixture.

This is very feasible, but I was thinking, if it was open, it may allow better lubrication of the slide(maybe). If the cap or cable don't make a good seal than you will have a lean condition, no matter the hole. Of course you guys have tons more experience than me, so better to stick with what has been working!

One can just take the lid off and use an outerwears, but you may need to increase the jetting to compensate for the better breathing.

I was cleaning my carburetor when I realized there were two holes that just let air pass right into the carburetor!! What are these for?? There on both sides!

There should be small pieces of hose coming out of each side of the carb on those nipples.

they are overflow tubes. used when the carb and/or the quad is on its side. rather than filling the carb with gas it drains the bowl

about 4" of hose on each side is good. normally there is little hose holders that are fitted under the bowl screws

They are vent tubes which provide a means for venting to the atmosphere any fuel vapors or pressure that might accumulate or build up inside the float bowl chamber due to high temperatures.

If these vapor pressures are not disposed of, then the pressure inside the bowl pushing down on top of the level of the fuel will be greater than the calibration of the carburetor intended it to be. This will result in a rich mixture due to excessive fuel being forced through the jets into the carburetor and on into the intake manifold.

Makes sense now haha and just did a plug chop what's your thoughts?

did you get a good full throttle pass ?
what temps ?
looks a little lean to me, try 1-2 sizes bigger

A leaktest is mandatory after a rebuild to ensure everything sealed properly
I'll do one when I get home. Also what would cause a hanging idle? Sounds like parking brake is on after you Rev the motor sounds like it's bouncing rpms and won't go down Without playing with idle.

I have not yet but the whole motor got rebuilt top to bottom everything new so I hope it's not leaking already.
As Forrest Gump would say "It happens", NOBODY is perfect, it could be a defective seal or gasket, collar wasn't sealed to crank, "builder" answered the phone or had to use the room after 3Bond install and before assembly.

Certainly a leak could cause the hanging idle too, that is why we do leak tests, so we know we are good. If not a leak, then the pilot circuit has problems, mixture not right or something plugged or leaking, idle stop too far open.

Did a leak test and Sat at 7 psi for over 10 mins. Also cleaned carb and change main jet to 330 and float levels were good 21mm. Repacked exhaust ,clean air filter , and running REC 90 32-1 with maxima super m. Hmmmmm
