Wear on Clutch housing?

Hey my clutch basket, the outter housing, has wear marks on the splines, now i know they are from wear but my service manual doesnt specify if the surface should be completely smooth when new. in other words, does it have grooves for the clutch plates to operate in from factory that have become worn from use or not at all?
Im planning on filing them away completely, is this wise? or should i just debur to get rid of the erratic clutch operation

if you talking about were the clutch plates hit the basket and create the grooves i just file them smooth but only if its the first clutch replacement cause if you make them to wide the clutch will chatter and eventualy brake an ear of the basket

yip thats them, ok thanks, was worried about making them too thin but it is the first clutch replace so it should be ok.
