Hey Guys,

Seems like to get my bike to rev properly with the full LRD setup, I have to use a 270main jet. This seems to me like it would be way way to lean, But every other jet I try thats bigger makes my blaster cough/spit and not want to rev.

Ive checked my plug heaps of times and everytime it looked good, seems like it may be still to rich and I might need a 260jet??? My only other mods is airbox lid off with a clean K&N filter. :-/:-/

wierd how it works but you should also know that altetude plays a big roll in jetting a bike so that might explane it

Did you just clean and re-oil the air filter? When I cleaned mine i got too much oil on the filter and it really restricted the airflow, I ended up having to wash it and re-oil it again just to get mine to run.

do you know how to do a proper plug chop?
Nah not really, I just take out the plug thats in there after I top out 4th ot 5th gear.

Thats a good point, Pretty sure I didn't put to much oil on it, But I will recheck it

may be a dumb question but did you try it with the airbox lid off?
.
Never ran with an airbox lid on

What if you go up to a 280 main and drop the needle 1 clip?
What does it do?
I went from a 150 main 2nd clip to a 158 main 1st clip and what a huge difference. Granted, that's on a 28mm OKO/Keihin style carb. But 150 to 158 is like going 270 to 290, maybe 300.
Give it a try.

I have tried almost every position of the needle and it made the midrange feel the best on the 2nd clip from the top. But it didn't alter the top end at all. I will give it another go this weekend.

Is your bike premix? Run 32:1 with good quality oil. Bel Ray, Amsoil, Motul, Klotz. Any of them are fine.

Nah I just run the factory autolube pump.

awhat is your altitude and average riding temperature?

Perth is at an elevation/altitude/height above sea level of 31.5 m above sea level.
Average riding temp I would have to say at the moment would be around the 27 degrees Celcius mark which is around 80.6 Deg Farenheight

Thanks Guys

I would strongly(read: STRONGLY) suggest you switch to pre-mix.
That will make a 270 or 280 main fine. The 2nd clip might even have to go back to the 3rd clip.

I agree with what knowpig said. Even though the injector still works, the gear inside is plastic, and eventually wears off. It will completely stop feeding your engine oil which in term cause it to lean out and blow up. Since you people Down there use a different type of currency, I have no idea how much it is, but up here a kit sells for $35.00 + shipping

260 270 on the main...needle in the middle...

Cool, thanks for that, I will give it a shot this weekend and will post results

I prefer to run oil injection, I have never had a problem with it in both blasters i've owned. Would it make my blaster perform better if I go premix with the LRD? I would like to keep the autolube if possible.

Just because it didn't fail in both you've owned doesn't mean it wont fail. and what blasterdude14 said, The factory autolube pump runs 20:1 and will fowl if you trail ride at a long period of time unless you open her up and burn up all that oil. Your top end might last longer but if it fails and you dont know it, there goes $200 bucks (our currency). I run 32:1 with Bel Ray Mc1 on pump gas

Blaster has never ran better with these setting. Everything is perfect, from midrange to top end, so smooth and fast! Thanks heaps

the best performance for premix mixture is 18 or 20:1 there is an article on the site that supports this and it has been talked about before. however, 32:1 is a good all around mixture. you also have to remember that if you switch from say 50:1 to 32:1 premix ratio you may have to richen your jetting as you will be running a leaner fuel mixture.
