I've seen some interest in these gadgets so I'll start a thread for some feedback. Hopefully from experience and not hearsay.

I emailed Trail Tech for some advice before buying since our Blaster is a little odd. They responded right away with friendly, helpful info.
The installation isn't to difficult if you understand how your quad works. You can go to their website and read the installation instructions. You may want to change things a bit to fit your needs. I see sum peeps say they put the speedo pickup on the rear sprocket/rotor cuz the front wheels are always in the air. Others say they have soooo much wheel spin they had to mount it on a front rotor to get accurate MPH. LOL

I bought mine for the temp gauge. It has 2 temp warning lights that you set. It saves high temp. It also saves high RPM & MPH. If you keep notes it can be helpful when making changes like motor mods, jetting & gearing. Don't know how accurate it is but it seems consistent.

I don't like that you have to switch screens for engine temp and it reverts back to the main screen. Kind of a pain. I didn't use the mount that came with it Looks like a 1 bump & it's gone mount.

I don't regret buying it and it's fun having the tach & speedo. It may be depressing when the speedo doesn't back up all your bragging :)

Waiting to see how it holds up.

I wondered if they really had a temp sensor, im gonna buy one asap. So what is the normal running temp??? I used a multimeter temp probe and got 260*F after a 15 minute ride next to a head bolt, does that sound the norm???

I finally got my last week. I was talk about this a few ago. I still want to add a battery so the back light stays on longer and you get the two top lights to light up... What is up with the mount ? I hate it to , I am going to have to make a sick one... I don't know how it is cause its still in the box...lol I have to add the battery and finish painting the engine before anything....

I have the endurance on my bike and it seems to be doing well. I thought the mount seemed cheap so I made my own and it is a lot stronger.

So how does the temp sensor mount??? Is it a sleeve that goes over the plug or a ring that goes under the plug??? Anyone got some running temps they would like to share???

Oh and does it use batterys, or do you have to wire it in??? I would think it would blow if it was wired in unless you used a fuse or maybe stuck a small 12v battery under the seat.

oh my fault , I'm going to be adding a battery to my bike but it does run off it own power. You can gets its full functions tho... like the back light only stays on for 10 sec .. if you have a battery in stay on for like 10mins ...

I'll have to find a dink of a battery to fit in the tool compartment then, cause i just bought the Vapor. From vids i've watched, i was suprised at the reaction time of the tach.

Ok guys, heres some feedback. Just got it installed today, took me a good hour and a half cause i was having a hard time finding the needed tools.X( Took it for a spin and i like. The temp rose quite fast as i gunned it and cooled quickly as i mellowed out. The ambient temp today was 43* and my average engine temp was around 290*. I did rip down the asphalt and got her up to 56.4 mph at 8935 rpm, which in turn caused my max temp to be 315*. I programed wrong the first time and got a reading of 17'870 rpm:o, the PPR was set at 1 and should have been at 2, i got it figured out now. Well anyways, i gotta come up with a small battery to keep the backlight lit up.

@YZ Otis: did you buy the endurance or the vapor??? Mines the vapor and the screen will stay on either the ambient temp or engine temp. It only diverts when the max. screen is selected. //bump//

Well today i went for a ride, reprogramed the thing to 2 ppr and is reading rpm's correctly now. I checked the distance with my truck and then with the odo and i've got the speedo tuned correctly. Hauled ass down the dirt road and got her up to 53.6 mph. What a rush. I still didnt get it pinned all the way. My max. temp for today was 341*. Ran on average at around 290*. I was puttin through some water in 1st gear and came out the other side and went to shift to second but accidently hit neutral and the rpm's spiked to 10,520 :o. Woops,,, within the split second i hit 2nd and poped the front off the ground. So far i like my vapor, however when flying down the trails it's hard to glance down at it.

So nobody else has any high temps they would like to post??? Mine got up to 348* the other day while riding, i know my jetting is about spot on, but i'de like to compare it to others findings. Average temp is around 300*. So who ever else owns one of these please post some input.

I got a vapor for xmas and got it installed but still have not got a good ride on it yet! work has got me doing shutdowns one after another!X( But as far as gettn temp readouts i will c about riding a lil bit new years and gettn a good feel for this thing!! I made a homemade mount for it that sits center in front of the handlebars, its using the mounts for the headlight just to give yall an idea. I also will post pics as soon as im able so please just be patient and I will definantly give some input on this thread!!

This summer I went riding in 106 degree F hot DRY weather and was able to get 370 degree F out of the cylinder and head using my ifrared heat gun. That was riding it really hard and fast under load for about 2 miles.
