35mm airstryker is a very good carb and size for a trail/mx ported 240, imo. I run one on mine and I wouldn't change it for any other carb
I'm not a fan of the mikuni carbs, especially the ones that use the two piece body style. They seem harder to dial in and for the money, I'd spend a little more for the keihin but thats entirely your call.
this is the carb im looking at buying..
Mikuni TM34-2 Flat Slide Carburetor 34mm HP Carb:eBay Motors (item 150370080356 end time Oct-01-09 18:53:06 PDT)
That's the carb I have, it was a pain to tune, but they use the same jets as the stocker so you wont have to buy a pile of new jets!
If you get that Mikuni I can get you in the ballpark before you even open the petcock on the fuel tank!
ok cool, how do you like the carb after you tuned it?
thanks for the info, once i get to talking to Denny from Flotek ill see what route im gonna go. And as far as rider skill,i have a higher skill level then the ppl i ride with.ya i agree, im building a 3mil stroker 240 too, from what ive heard the 35mm airstryker is a badass carb, not bad to tune, easier than the 34 PJ ive heard. with that setup, you could push 35-40 hp and could beat a stock banshee, i think they are pushin, what, 32hp stock? rider skill would have a lot to do with it, tho.
good to hear...cause i dont ride easy..lol. ride hard or go home.Fires right up and runs HARD! all day long!B)
