Noob question butttt, Ive been riding for a while now and I have always heard about throttles sticking or for no reason, going to full throttle with out even touching the throttle. It has never happened to me, so I would like to know how I should stop the bike if this were to happen to me. Kill switch? I've heard that it is bad to hit the kill switch at high speeds.

ride the brakes so you don't go flying, shift into the highest gear, pull in the clutch and come to a quick dead stop, hold all brakes and pop the clutch. Should stall the motor and you can find what the problem is. Sometimes you can try working the throttle to see if the needle go stuck for some reason.

Just switch it off. It wont hurt the engine to shut off the ignition at high speed. Remember, a 2stroke engine's source of lube comes from the oil in the pre-mix or from the injector, so as long as you dont shut off the fuel valve and starve it for fuel/oil at WOT, it will be fine. In fact, I routinely shut off the ignition on my Blasty and then pin the throttle to draw in a fresh (and more importantly cool) fuel/oil and air charge to the cylinder to cool the engine.

The shifting gears method is your only choice if the engine overheats and starts to run away. Switching off the ignition does no good then.

first hit back brakes, then front brakes slowly so you dont go end over end, all this with clutch pulled in, try to shift it to the highest gear or if neutral is closer, get it into neutral, altho on some bikes finding neutral is a bit confusing, mostly rider fault for not knowing your bike lol

Simple as taking candy from a baby.

Hit kill switch with left thumb, while pulling in the clutch. That takes takes care of the motor.

At the same time apply front brake with right hand, then apply foot brake with right foot, slightly after the front of the bike has dipped. Roll to a halt. That takes care of the bike.

Wipe beads of perspiration from brow with back of right hand. If you have problems in the seating department a handfull of dry leaves work really well. :) That takes care of you.
