Sometime product reviews can be very entertaining ... LOL
For peeps lookin for an extended swing arm. Just build to your needs & budget so you can enjoy riding. If you're not drag racing ya don't need an extreme port job. If you're not going to be riding a famous rock mountain ya might not need a tank, If you're not gonna be runnin the Baha 1000 ya probably don't need a long legged Blastersaurus. If you're not running a completive racing class ya probably don't need the best of everything. If ya don't need to prove ya can out spend everyone on a Blaster you can probably still have fun without some of the bling.
Some people run sand trails (although I've never seen anyone grooming them). Some peeps run 300' straight ahead. Some love the rock piles & some gotta have the mud. Some like to race in circles and some like to spend their time in the air. My guess is that the majority of riders like to do wheelies, donuts and bomb around with their buddies.
It's cool that everyone's so passionate about their path but with some reading you can cull out what ya don't have to have or can't afford and still have a nice solid bike. If you can afford it, by all means, get the best for your application. Just about every option you could imagine is on this forum.
Everything's relative and an argument can be made for most any point of view. Analyzing a picture of 1 application shouldn't decide a products value. I've yet to see a side view comparing all the available +4 swingers with a 400ex shock. I would also like to see a side view with a 100lb & 240lb rider to see where they sit with sag. Some peeps are using shocks from other bikes like the 250r & yfz. Is there a special mount location for those shocks? Will the builder put the mount where ever you want it? If so, how many peeps could really figure out where the shock should mount for their needs? Do you care about unsprung weight? Would you like the arm to give before the frame? Is chrome a major factor? Should it be +2, +3, +4 or more?
I'm not saying cheap out, bullet proof is a good thing. Just saying, use the search function, do your own homework and then pick your compromise.
Hang in there and soon you'll have an absolute opinion just like the rest of us ... Burp ... I just had to get in on the fun
