swap?

the only way of getting the the €2000 is if i do this deal ! i would really get that white and red one if i had the money! is it just me or do 450s need to be rebuilt bery often?

high compression 4-strokes need rebuild just as much as their 2-stroke counter parts

i thought u said it has a hmf pipe? its def the stocker on there. having owned 4-strokes, i suggest if you get it to re-do the valves instantly before even riding it, prepare for headaches. a good rule of thumb thats kept me from going broke is if you are going to buy a high performance 4-stroke buy it new (since they are extremely expensive to rebuild and people never do proper head maintenance on them) 2strokes buy used since they never retain value and rebuilds are uber cheap.

i said i would buy a hmf slip on ! how much does it cost to do them? thanks

a basic topend rebuild will run around a couple hundred in parts(tons in labor). but a 4-stroke topend rebuild is much more complex than a 2-stroke, its definitely not an easy process and there is tons of of tolerances that must be met with the utmost accuracy and if you arent an avid engine builder i would highly recommend that you dont even touch your wrench and just take her strait to the shop

my biggest worry for sure would be if it will drop a valve... every 20hrs there should be a valve inspection and i question if the owner did this or had it done

^ thanks for the info (rep cough lol) i dont understand how a droped valve could cause a bottom end to be rebuilt as the broken bit would be above the piston?

I have had my YFZ since 07, and I have not had to rebuild it... I regularly maintain my machine, change oil frequenlty, adjust the valves regularly, and it runs as strong as the day i brought it home...

^^Reliability is only as good as the mechanic lol going to meet him wensday eve ,hard to belive im giving all my favourite childhood toys for a quad lol

why lol? i said about the little china quad he said he can get it fixed for 20 if i want (cdi ) but i have a spare one, 1 was saying to one of the guys in school today that i might be getting it and he said hould buy it of me for 150 as it is if i do get it that i can get the new caliper same day! :D

ofcourse im refering to race situations. since thats all i know. im sure with a fresh engine if you only mess around on trails and gentle tack riding you could get a several years with regular maintaining on a build. the big issue i tried to stress tho is that people seem to forget the 20hr valve inspection

I didn't read through all the pages... but I would have traded my blaster in a heart beat for that.

well guys ... i got it :D seriously fast i cried shifting into 3rd tought i was gonna die it does wheelies in 6th when im not even trying to wheel ... boy it scares the sh*t outta me!
