Stumped Couple Engine Probs need some help!!!

when you give it throttle do the rev's seem to stay high for a few seconds then drop? if so your running too lean. thats what it sounds like choke = less air more fuel. hence for easy starting :P just like a primer in a way

when i rev it up it takes off and i have to hit the kill switch to take care of it, even if I let the clutch out it stull runs i dont even have to tap the gas and it will fly around my yard

yea I took my petcock off yesterday and I just woke up today to find a HUGE ASS puddle of gas on my garage floor now i need a gasket for the grrrrrrrr.... oh and yea I was running 89 but now its all over the floor so i guess i will try like some 92 or 93 octane, but would the air leak be before or after the carb cuz i know im missing one of those clamps that goes around the carb to hold the boot on but its missing the airbox side so it shouldnt affect it right???

definately not going to help things any. i read your last post about your blasty being on auto pilot, that is some odd sh*t right there. but being a carb the slider has to be open some for it to go right? frayed cable or sticky slider maby?

no that didnt work i took my head off and the gasket had premix between the gasket im thinking that when my buddy put in my piston he didnt torque the head down could that cause both of my problems? i wonder:-/:-/:-/

sure as sh*t I went through and sanded down the slider with 600 grit sand paper and she runs good now just wont idle right yet tried the idle screw on the tors and no luck anybody got any ideas i'd appreciate the help here she is so close to running perfect its unreal

i had a 89 blaster dropped off at my house to fix a few weeks ago, the guy said its backfiring bad and missing and wont idle down or nothing, he said the top end is fried, so i washed it up good so i can disassemble the engine without dirt and dust interfering, so i go to take the head off, and all the bolts are different sized, no flat or lock washers, there must of been a .020 gap you can see day light through the head and cylinder! new headgaskets and some new nuts lock and flat washers and that was one easy 100 bucks!

your float in carb sounds to be sticking, mines did the exact same. except i had a fault in my kill switch when it happend and it wouldnt shut off and i couldnt stall as it was in trailer :P

well mine isnt loosing any fuel out of the drip line but i was wondering what reeds do for the performance or possibly spark plug gap my plug is brown color so its jetted right

yes its jetted right. well my quad ran gr8 on vitos stage2 2 and i bought aktive fibreglass and it would just bog really bad and not run well.... so possibley?

yea so thats prolly it but I did turn my air screw down all the way and now it idles right so i must have been getting too much air in it otherwise im pretty sure I need new reeds cuz it still idles a bit high sometimes after a spin in the yyard and if i start it or bring it to low rpms its fine then
