My blaster had been running a little off the last few rides and was a little hard to start. I figured it was because it was jetted way rich from the winter ( it's a stock motor with no lid, v force reeds, K & N, fmf sst pipe and a 320 jet ). I stuck a 300 jet in and it ran great but I had to pull start it to get it going the other day. Once it started it seemed to run ok but not 100 percent. I figured it was because I had it in some deep water a few times. Well, I went to start it yesterday and it wouldn't start. I put in some fresh mix ( 32 : 1 ) checked for fire and put in a fresh plug. I don't have a compression tester but it kicked over waaay to easy. My buddy came over and we pulled the head and jug and the rings were all gummed up and stuck. The cyl looked great. We cleaned the piston lands and rings, and put everything back together using the same gaskets ( we didn't remove intake or reeds ) and she fires right up and runs like a champ ! I guess I should've jetted the carb down a long time ago. Luckily I seem to have gotten off without spending a dime knock on wood.
