Squeeling back brake......make it stop!

I've got the stock rear brake set up and it works just fine. It squeeled, sort a like a non-oiled chain, before the brake job I did 2 months ago and it still squeels. The brake works great, but it's just noisy.

What can do I do to eliminate this squeel?

I'm thinking maybe the rotor might be glazed over, but thought I'd check with with you guys for suggestions.

spray it down with brake cleaner? might be a small rust part after it may have rained?

Is it all the time or just when you step on the brakes?

It squeels all the time.

take the side of the caliper off and reset that little white plastic wheel that is in there... its suppose to be self adjusting but it doesnt like to adjust to larger sizes after new pads are put in... so take that little white wheel and reset it so the pads are all the way out then put it all back together put the caliper on hit the brake pedal once or twice and it should be cured

I appreciate the tips. So far I tried ace's approach, and I still end up w/ squeeling after the adjuster get to the pressure point where it stops adjusting.

the primary squeel comes at a specific spot on the rotor and then the squeel remains on a bit longer. I'll try the brake-cleen approach this weekend to see if that will help, but it seems like the brake pads are just lightly dragging on the rotor.

It's really no big deal, and if nothing else, I only hear the squeel when my engine is off since my fmf is plenty loud

scuff the rotor up with some 180 grit sand paper

the rotor may be warped a little bit

My squeals if I push it slow, its the rotor on mine I just sprayed it with wd40 and it went away

I just tried the sand paper approach and it seems to have worked. I found that the squeel was coming from the inside side of the rotor and after some sand papering....followed by a wipe down of both sides, the squeel is gone.
