Hey guys trying to get some things figured out for my Blaster. I'm gonna end up getting it bored to 66.5 cause it needs it and maybe some port and/or head work if I can afford it. My question is what size sprockets should I get, gonna be mostly trail riding, there ain't many places I could even use 6th gear around here. I already got 18" rear tires so I was thinkin like 14/40. Also I'm thinkin bout gettin a new pipe, but not really sure what would be best for my kind of riding. I already have an fmf power core2 silencer. I just don't really know where I'll need the power at. I know trail riding I should keep higher rpms in lower gear when riding so maybe more power in the mid?

If your riding trails that are rutted at all your not going to like the ground clearance of those 18's. I ran some for a while and kept getting hung up in the trails. Almost went over the bars a few times. If you run them I would stick with a 14 tooth front. I am running 20 inch tires and 13/40 gearing and love it.

I would say 13:40 gearing

Like bronco said, the 18's dont have much clearance... I often find myself sliding on the skid plate (was nice when i didnt have one, i could ride over stuff on the gear:o )

18s on a blaster? wow i didnt know that possible, would be good for dragsters id think but not trails.

I believe a "dragster" would want bigger tires, and a lot of traction.

A lot of people run 18" tires, although 20" is more common. Depends on preference i suppose, and if their quad came with them

Thanks guys. Most of the "trails" I'll be riding are old logging roads and power line roads. I got 7500 acres of forest I can throw a rock at but can't touch it with a 4 wheeler:( Only place to ride around here is private property, luckily I know some people with alot of acreage. Any input on a pipe. I priced em the other day and guess it will be awhile b4 I get one.

Used pipe sometimes come up on fleabay.

You could always become a supporting member and put a wanted ad on BF, results are very good, as some folks have a lot of parted out bikes.

Thanks guys. Gotta save up so I can get my other stuff done first so pipe will prob be the last thing I get anyway just figured the stock has served its time and the dam thing is heavy lol.
