does any one know what is the fastest you can go in first gear on a stock yamaha blaster. I want to know because i'm trying to get one and i was going to put a hitch on it and use it to pull a very small trailer around. the most weight i would be hauling is 100 pounds. I would be crossing about 1 or 2 ditches and going up about 2 or 3 50 ft hills that are about average steepness. The ditches are not deep at all there is only one ditch that could be hard and it is only about 6 inches deep. I know i can put a slower sproket on but i want to know if i needed to.

I don't know the speed in first gear but you should be fine towing a trailer with it. If first gear is too slow you could still tow 100 pounds in second. I've towed 500 pound utility quads with my blaster in 3rd gear so you shouldn't have any problems
I pulled my 580 pound go karts in the sugar sand with mine in 3rd with no problems, you'll be fine
i pulled my freinds three wheller home from where we ride at it broke down its a 1986 big red i belive but its all steel heavy as hell but i was between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd on the ride home an i even pulled it up one little hill by my house it wasnt far maybe a half mile from my house he broke down on the way home but i had no trouble

Why would you ever put a hitch on a Blaster? Just get a utility if your going to beat it like that....
I wont be beating it im only going to haul a chainsaw with gas and oil a shovel and a lawn chair. The hundred pounds is from maybe a little fire wood to the house a couple times. I have a utility it has been abused too much by the previous owners and i just cant trust it. Besides i only weigh 135 pounds the weight limit is 220 i think plus the things i mentioned are probably less than 25 pounds and the trailer probably weighs 30. Plus i know for a fact that the small things i would be doing with this is fine i really want it for trail riding. And the ocasicical run away from a cop.
The hitch is just to make it more useful without buying another quad. And it has plenty of power for this and i try to never abuse anything. Also it has more power than my utility. If you still think it is torture reply and i will explain more. The hitch is also for if i get stuck so someone can pull me out if needed. Im NOT trying to be a troll im just explaining my thoughts.
Ok let ME explain more. I see more and more people doing this with their Blasters.... It's an AIR COOLED two stroke. When you put it under load and ride at a slow speed, it doesn't have much air AT ALL circulating past the cooling fins. This really isn't good for the motor. When you start overheating the motor on a Blaster, theres no warning light that flickers on. No sensor that kills the motor. No temperature gauge. If your going to run something like this for something it wasn't designed to do, you are going to be paying for lots of parts. It's the same as if I were to take a big fat utility quad to my families MX track and rage the hell out of it. I'm going to break stuff. Why? Because I'm not using for what it was designed to do! Believe me man, I'm not trying to be a prick or act like your stupid. I'm just trying to save you time, money, and trouble. It will be worth it to fix that utility. In the end it will cost you just as much to rebuild a seized motor.
My utility is air cooled is is a older modle i think 95 honda. The blaster will only be pulling the trailer around one day of the week and only about 5 minutes at a time and i dont go trail riding that often. I help my uncle on saturdays and i dont awasys work for him i understand what you are telling me but i dont think that it will be a problem of over heating.
it will burn your clutch up after awhile and if u keep going real slow and its hot it might overheat think of it this way the faster you go the cooler your motor is
Your utility is also a four stroke which is partially cooled by the oil and it doesn't rely on oil in the fuel to lubricate the cylinder. It's also built to pull things and it's geared for it. It is nothing for the utility to pull a trailer. It's a different story with a Blaster.
I know all this it will be moving fast enough to keep cool. Its not that i dont care its just i know it will be fine i will be doing very little starting and stopping. Plus my uncle had a honda 250r 2 stroke atc that he pulled this trailer with and it was perfect when he sold it he sold it because he didnt use it any more. So once again you think you are doing me a favor but i know all of this and i know it will be fine. I do not wish to argue anymore if you reply i will read but i will not reply. Meaning you can say anything meen or funny and i wont reply.
I'm not trying to be mean or funny. Just helpful. Thats my job I guess.... But do what you will. Continue with the truckin trailers. Next week when you need a top end kit give me a call. I might be able to find yah a deal on one.
