Start it up and since i know if i let it idle to long it'll turn off. So let it warm up maybe

20 sec and ride off. Rode around 4 blocks. All the time the quad ran well. Came back to

my house and it idled 45 sec then it just dies. No sputter no nuthin. Just like switching it

off. Any help is appreciated.

Cleaned the carb. Has spark.

When i cleaned the carb i turned it up a little. Was kinda low when it was working right.

I suspected the cap but it still does it with it off.

You can't check the mixture after you have mixed it , You have to know the precise amount of fuel to oil when mixing , Unless you have your oil injection still

It would pay to do a leak down test.

If all is well,

Idle adjusting.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a fast idle.

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs to allow the motor to respond.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

And by the way 20 seconds is not long enough for warm up, you need 2 minutes or more.

Im going to get on that. Also it will turn off if i let it idle for a minute.

i had the same problem it turned out my main jet was rich and the plug was getting wet with gas and it would ride great but didint idle very long...

Thats funny cause the p/o put a fatty pipe on and didn't rejet, it still has the stock 230 main. Should have added that earlier.

A fatty calls for a #260 with the stock filter with the lid on, bigger if you remove it.

I feel a #260 is too lean, chuck in a #280 and plug chop to confirm.

Im going to try to change the coil cause its getting fuel. Its kinda old, maybe since 09.

And a compression test and leak down.

Anybody know where to get a good coil?
