Hey guys, just picked up some 1-1/8" bars from pitboss with the oversized clamps. Could be wrong but I think I have to remove the key and housing in order to run these bars. I was also trying to think of a way to even re-mount the key somewhere on the frame but wanted to see what some other members did with theirs. I'm sure someone on here has done this and I'm not sure what wires to disconnect so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I got rid of my key long ago so I'm a little fuzzy on this. I think there's only two wires going to the key. I've seen people mount it in the vertical part of the front fender like on the 03+ Blasters.

For me a switch is a simple deterrent to unsupervised hot laps by showoff youngsters :) ... an ounce of prevention ... I just cut a hole in the side of the hood & put in a switch ... prolly not so good if ya don't have a fender to protect it.

I too ditched my key . just the run/stop switch was used . and yes you just disconnect and put electrical tape over the ends and tuck them away . its a tad sketchy to not have anything but a switch and a couple kicks away from your baby being gone , so I always make sure its chained to my truck when I'm not riding it at the dunes .
My banshee is the same way , no key . Just kick and go . It just better be me kicking it , otherwise someones going to the hospital .
