Hello all, in the process of doing a top end rebuild. Just got the cylinder on and where the clutch cable connects to one of the studs, there's not enough slack to put it back on. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Stripped it down months ago but I don't remember it being that hard to get off. I attached a couple of pics to show the closest I can get it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Disconnect the cable from the clutch lever on the handlebars

Then mount the cable keeper to the cylinder stud and tighten it down

Insert cable into the cable keeper

Connect cable end to clutch arm on the crankcase

Reconnect cable to the clutch lever and adjust leaving the correct amount of freeplay
