looking to get rid of it. mostly the head and tail light. want to clean the bike up a bit and get rid of the bullshit. make the scoop for the headlight a vent probly. anyone have a fail proof tactic for thisI:I

Remove the yellow red wire from the stator, this runs the lights, leave the green if you have an 03 and up. You only need 3(02 and older) or 4(03 and newer) to run the bike from the stator. Leave the orange from the coil along with all the black wires, that's it. The stator wires are long enough to run up the frame in the front and hook to the stator, this will clean up the harness and look nice.

I have removed a bunch of wires from the bike for my build, although i am keeping the headlight and tail light wiring. Removed the TORS, so i cut out all the wiring for that system. Also i re-routed the wiring from the stator by just running the harness from the stator up the frame tube and plugged directly into the cdi box. Originally it runs to the back of the motor, and up under the seat, plugs into the harness which then goes to the cdi box. So i pretty much just eliminated the extensions. I'm also eliminating the master run/stop / headlight switch, and using a kill switch instead, my lights will be controlled by just a switch on the light or i might use my key whole as i don't have a key. Parking brake is gone. so thats how i'm doing it

what does the black wire from the stator do? i'd assume it's a ground, but mines just cut off and it runs so i was wondering if i needed it. i just have 2 wires running from the stator to the cdi box, and the coil wire from the cdi to the coil, and a ground wire from the cdi box to the frame.

i just figured it was a ground, althought now that i think about it is it a plain black wire or black w/white?

ive only got like 4 or 5 wires going up to the front i belive lol. defently helps make it clean. and easier when you take it apart to repaint, which i might be doing again I:I

ok you removed your TORS? how did you go about that & what did you put on top of your carb once it was gone? post pics.

i just removed the electronic part of the tors, my carb still looks exactly the same although there is no sensor in it, or wires coming from it. I also removed the control unit and all the wires from the harness.
