Rebuild on the "FREE SHEE"

Just wondering because there was such a "fuss" about it on BHQ, using templates to port a banshee. Heck if I were into porting I would make "templates" to save layout/measurement time.

I read all that crap. I am a shop manager for a trade show company. We make a lot of different countertops. Well I have templates for the ones that are commonly used. This cuts down on time and more importantly keeps every time the exact same. So how do the other builders do it? Do they just eye it up and start grinding? Or do they measure every cylinder and use layout ink? All I know is I am extremely happy with my blaster motor, so why would I take a chance with another builder?????

Clutch and jets came in today. Should be able to start assembling the motor Monday. I'm riding the blaster and using tomorrow to get it ready.

watch for a thread on BHQ or here, a guy ken has never talked to in his life, followed kens vids on youtube and ordered/used the sport port trail banshee templates, he's running toomey pipes and stock carbs/everything else
he felt compelled to call ken and let him know, and thank him for the vids and inspiration to do it himself..........

IT DYNO'D AT 75 hp. !! :o

thats double the stock power, by himself, at home, with a set of templates, zero bhq sponsors that gets shoved down everyones thoats over there.
he did buy use proper porting tools though.

his buddy has a bhq sponsor ported banshee, supposedly a 100hp. set-up ???
he rode this one and said he cannot feel an ounce of difference.

i'm hoping the guy at least comes on here and shares his story...and dyno sheets that is required by the bungholes over there.

sorry for the thread jack mike....the banshee is coming along very nicely I:I

what?!?!?!?! boyesen ports your one lucky (something I shouldent say) so will i get this from ken if I get a trail port? that looks so bitchen how long was turnarround a week and a half or 2??

It was about 2 weeks. I had to order pistons and have them shipped to him. I couldn't be happier. I think he does boost ports in all of them, but I'm not sure. I would give him a call.

Every cylinder job we get is checked for size, taper and out of round. Boring and honing is done in house if needed. The cylinder is media blasted, cleaned, painted and oiled. The cylinder is packed to UPS standards, insured for $500 and usually shipped in 10 days. All of our Blaster cylinders get the boost ports.

Dang!!!! Someone has some steady handsI:I..That looks great..

I will be assembling the motor tonight. I'll take a lot of pics. Luckily Ken gave me some good advice. To anybody assembling a banshee motor you want to torque down the head first then torque down the cylinders.
