Raptor 250 or Blaster?

*facepalm... this is a blasterforum..... even tho he owns a 450r and i own a yz125 we have both owned blasters and i'm sure we both agree its a dumb question, of course we will say blaster... the search option is a good thing, i'm sure there are 3 million threads with this exact question...

You could just buy this.

You'll miss the Blaster soon enough if you get rid of it. Even Raptor 350's are slow as Christmas. The only way to get any real power out of a 4-stroke is to start with one that has at least a high-flow head (think 4 or more valves) and is liquid-cooled. Raptor 250's have neither.

My daughters raptor 250 is awesome, not faster than the blaster, but in the trails can hang no problem, Oh and i bought it new in 08 and have had "0" issues even after 10 roll overs all that happened was a few hospital trips and a bent grab bar!

If your young and inexperienced with 2-strokes i say get the 250, regular oil changes, plug changes , valve adjustments and air filters cleanings, you will be golden.

If you want fast, stick with the blaster stroke it , port it-pipe it, bigger carb and reeds you'll stay ahead of the pack!

i have had a raptor 250 before. it is a very fun machine but the blaster has more power and is a little bit faster stock to stock. They are both reliable i think. But then the blaster is cheaper to make go fast. The raptor is lighter and easier to throw around in motorcross.

So it whatever you choose to do. if i rode motorcross i would by the raptor.

If you are looking for a 4 stroke go with a Suzuki Ltz 400. Great upgrade from the blaster! Has lots of power nice trails bike and can be made for motorcross. it is liquid cooled and I havent had one problem with mine yet. And she flys by! But the blaster is a fun little quad for runnning around on to. My suggestion would be go pick up a Z 400 or 450 and then turn around and find a cheap blaster! Best of both worlds!!
