Q about this kit

Tusk Engine Oil Seal Kit | ATV | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

Does this kit have the crank seal(clutch side). Just trying to make sure. Don't want to f it up. Much appreciated.

Which side of the seal goes toward the bearing?

I don't believe it matters which side of the Tusk seal faces out. I put this kit in two of my Blasters, and if I remember right, it goes in either way. The seal is double-lipped to keep a vacuum seal in the crankcase, and to keep gearbox lube in the gearbox. As long as you put it in correctly (straight, without damage), you'll be fine.

in the clymers manual it says to pack grease in the seal befor you install it

Just when i thought this thing was going together i lose the crank key.

Can i use one from a hardware store or are they heat treated or something.

well come stores have keys, but I had to have my old woodryff key to use to size it up.

Without atleast having one, it might be hard, you might have to order one.

take the gears with you to get exact width, that sucks, hate it when something like that happens

which key did you lose? I have ton's of keys around. if it's just the flywheel key you will have to order one or you will need to file down one from the hardware store to fit.

I really hope you are going to do a leakdown test on this before you start it
