Puzzling carb

I ended up with a 35 pilot, dgh needle middle slot, and 138 main. Come to find out the carb is just too big for my little motor. I ordered 28 pwk keihin so well see how it does when it gets here

once properly jetted the 34pj should work even on an unported motor like yours the problem is the pj is a poorly designed outdated 25+ year old carb sadly keihin made the choke as part of the idle circuit which causes lowend bog ,and difficult adjustment amongst other things .if you scored one on ebay off a trx250r for 50 bucks thats one thing but i cant understand why people are paying good money and buying them brand *new on here.thats like putting rabbit ears on your big screen plasma .can they be made to work ,yes.. but first your going to need patience and on a mild build if you run a rich needle like a DEK (DGH is even more rich ) your probably going to be chasing your jetting around all over the place becuase the major jet circuits overlap each other .there are over 150 needles available knowing the way they operate and change the power makes a huge difference .the smaller pwk carb will likely provide more signal and as such intake velocity for your setup plus they are light years ahead of the pj series

After changing out my pj 34 to a pwk 28 with 135 main and 35 pilot the thing still ran like dog. Changed the spark plug in it and about fell off the back it ran so good. Did a plug chop after 10 min of riding an its a beautiful brown. So $150 for pwk 28, about 75 in jets and hours of bad words. Finding out that your a dumb for not doing the last step first priceless.

Rode it more today and after a 20 mile ride and more brake in time i pulled the plug. It looks that the tip is turning a bit grayish and i still have not opened her up all the way. I bumped the main up to a 140 but will have to try it again tomorrow due to light and neighbors.

i've got a 30mm oko (pwk rip-off) and i'm running a 48 pilot and a 150 main, and its a little on the rich side after a chop on the main side, but it could use more pilot

Went for another ride yesterday with 42 pilot and 142 main in and made it 15 miles and the rings gave out and now wont start. Did a plug chop and it was a good brown but seemed that it was hot. Try to get yah a pic on it later. This things r a b to git tuned right. Guess ill rip off the jug and see what the damage is. Figered since i have it off Ill try my hand at porting.
