Porting?????

no haha i didnt see the motor was ported tell the day after i said no cause the case and then called him and it was sold

looks all stock other than a blaster sized after market reed valve with the good boyesen carbon fiber reeds,he cleaned up the intake some and considered doin the transfers for about 10 mins and gave up. If you have it truly ported or diy then its WAY more fun!!!!!! just advancining the port timing and opening the exhaust will make a massive improvement.

FWIW you CAN NOT tell porting by looking at the intake. In the grand scheme of things the intake porting does little for performance.
If you were to measure anything it would be to put the motor on a degree wheel and measure the exhaust height to tell the style of porting or simply flip the jug upside down and see if the casting is smooth of the top sides of the ports.
That will at least tell you it's been ported in some way.
From your pics it looks like the somebody just did the intake and knife edged the transfers- maybe added a few HP. Nothing else looks touched.
This would explain why the guy mentioned nothing about it being ported because it's not. He probably didn't even get a reading on the ass dyno from that.
This is good considering thats about all the everyman has any buissness doing.
It's worth a re-build and any port man can work with that cylinder.

He's a pic of some good porting showing the smooth topsides I'm talking about. The piston is upside down which is a good way to check to see if they are all at the same height.

paulie i did the same thing with the piston when i ported it for the +3mm crank...use an old one and lower it to the height u need, tape it on the outside of the skirt...that way theres no fear of slipping down inside the cylinder why grinding on the transfers...worked perfect for the exhaust and the triples too

dude that sucks do you live north or south of joplin? i live north but if you ever heard of truman lake

well, id say the exhaust hasnt been touches but the transfers have seen a tad bit of cleaning up, not enough tho!,

either way, its a nice surprise:)
