for those of you that do it, i know in the tutorial it says to get a good mile run in 6th, wide open,
heres my prob, i can only get about a 1/2 mile run, is it okay to stop, turn around and run it again? or is the half mile ok

see, im barely getting any color with this run, barely getting the smoke ring.

let me know

i've never read any such thing as a 1/2 or 1 mile run, only to get it to wide open throttle, cut the switch while pulling the clutch, then either read it there, or replace with a different one for the ride back,
and i've never gotten any color on just the outer porcelien from one run, unless extremely rich, but i'd say if your not seeing a smoke ring, then your lean,
what have you done to necessitate a plug chop, or is this a fresh motor ???

i think the theory is that a hundred yard run under wot, isnt enuf to fry a piston, even if it is lean, but i dont know about a 1 mile wot while lean ????, < do i smell sumthin frying ???
i try not to even do them long wot's when my jetting is good

this is where i seen the mile reference

sheeblast had posted it in another plug chop thread.

this "do it with a new plug" method is new to me.
when i was drag racing my bansee, we run them on friday after noon after the mods we did during the week, and just read the plug after a few hours of riding.

so this method is new to me.

and yes, its a fresh motor, and im not sure on the jetting.
running an f7 pipe, open air box with a uni filter, 260 main, 40 pilot.
the pilot is a whole other story, as it wont start after sitting with out some primer in the
air filter, either a shot of start fluid or pouring gas over the filter.

after its running, its one kick all day long.
the plug that i been running looks good, nice tannish color deep down
on the porcelin
the chop one i did has barely any color and tells me its lean on the top end,
but it didnt run very long

thinking bout just finding a different carb
