plastic brake line flaring

i'm trying to flare plastic brake lines on the lines that came with my kit. stupid idea, but may be worth it. i'm not sure if you can ge the braided style for this kit but i'll look. any tips or tricks would be great. i tried using a phillips head screwdriver and twisting it to make the end flare up, but i don't know if i should try to use something hot to touch them to and try to flare the ends that way.

there is a special tool for flaring metal brake lines but I dont know about plastic. is this one of those gt rear brake kits from ebay?

yaeh. i figured it out and it works great. i bought it from rabbit23 on here. ebay is fairly annoying at times, likhen the high bidder drops out and you have to pay when you don't want it anymore or something.

Man your lucky I wanted those brakes but didnt have the money at the time

i used needle nosed pliers and bent the end and used a hammer to kind of flatten it. i figured out that i had to kind of bend it back to make it fit right, but at least they won't pop off.

im not sure what your trying to do but if its for the rear brake kit and your using the 1/8" polytubing, they make compression fittings for that stuff, no need to flare the tubing ( sounds like a failure waiting to happen i might add ). just fyi you can get these fittings at any hardware or auto parts stores...just look for the brass in the plumbing departsments

its actually 3/16 tubing. they do use hat type ferrules or compression fittings. i had to cut the line because it was too long and the fittings did their job too well....i could't get them off to put on the new end of the line. so, i need to get some that aren't "compressed". i'm planning on getting them from blasterzone.com, but they don't tell you what size anything is, including their steel lines and stuff. i think it is dumb because more people would buy their stuuf if they knew what size it was.

dont bother going through blasterzone, they will never send you the stuff you need they are never around to answer the phone either and you'll end up paying way too much by the time you add shipping...just go to your local hardware store or home improvement place ( ie. lowes, menards, home depot ) they all will carry the ferrules and compression nuts you need...
