Piston cracked

I've been getting my cylinder and head re-chambered and ported but when I went to put them back on, my piston was cracked. Does anyone know how this happens? I have around 30+ hours on the motor. it's a wiesco piston with wiesco crankshaft.

Piston to cylinder clearance and rpm.It happens.

Good thing you caught it now before you ended up with shrapnel throughout motor. Imo, id go with a rebore and new poston.

Gonna get it rebore. I have a namura piston on the way

Forged or cast piston doesn't matter...just get the new piston properly fitted to the bore, and warm it up before riding. It really is that simple. Easy peasy.

This kind of thing can happen to any type of piston, forged or cast.
