Im getting my PJ 34 dialed in, and I have a UPP intake manifold..

I have vforce 3 reeds, but im wondering if I should go the way of the Boyesen rad valve, or keep the vforce 3's and get a pro design intake manifold???

2-cents, opinions and experiences?

ive got the v-force, seems like a nice bit of kit, ive just rebuilt mine its on a 30 oko its roughly jetted, the throttle response and pick up from idle is awesome i doubt you could get much better i put that down to the v-forces. as for out and out power, i read somewhere the v-vorces are the best on top of everything definetly the PTR pyramid ones.

keep the v-forces, and i read somewhere that on a flow bench the upp intake flows the best out of all the intakes

who said the rad valve was worse?
why would they be selling it on ebay for 100 bucks if it was worse then stock?
i agree i have heard this before. but who started saying this and how can they get away with charging a bill for something worse then stock?

stupid people that dont know any better

vForce3 is the way to go. Keep the vforce3. I read on one of post that someone dyno tested each reed set up and vForce3 ranked in for most horsepower.

i havent tried the rad valve yet but i have tried pretty much all the others from the old fmf cages n reeds, boyesen pro series, vito's dual stage carbon fibers, ebay stockers, vforce 3's and out of all of them the vf3's own everything else with the boyesen pro series coming a distant second. everything else seems to have less response or a delayed response

man i dont remember who it was that supposedly tested them. whoever it was should probally be sued by boyesen lol, remember when you couldnt give your away.:o

i think the RAD valve has a better mid range response to the Vforce.. I dont know.. I can see how the v force is better at providing raw volume, but I think the RAD is better tuned..

Anyone know what im on about?

sorry but the mid range response of my vforce3 reeds is great i don't think
it can get any better than this ;)

Ok here's a couple pics for comparison- i just purchased (super good price) the Vforce.

See, when I look at the Vforce, I see square edges, and sharp edges that will cause turbulence and separation!

When I see the Rad valve, I see a precisely molded piece which is trying to preserve laminar flow through the intake.

I still think both have their individual benefits but what im getting is that its not worth the money since I already have vforce reeds..

Also, the rad valve is molded for a stock carb.. so yeah, vforce it is! I still wanna try the rad...
