As some of you may remember, i had a thread a while back http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-13/oko-no-go-41056/
well, i got my keihin JJH needle in the post and moved up to a 52 pilot. after some testing, i was no better off, i swapped to the Banshee stock needle as a test and still no result, so back to the JJH on its richest clip, and the 52 pilot all the way in ---BAM that worked!
if i back off the pilot more than 1/4 turn i cant pull off and have the bog. so im going to put in a 58pilot and see how that runs. ive found the problem is at the transistion between pilot and needle circuits, so a fat pilot will sort me out.
as for mains, i ran a 155 and felt it was a tad lean, next best i had was a 168, runs great on that but it feels a bit creamy/flat, so ordered a 160, 162, 165.
So that should get me going perfectly.
all along i was under the impression i was too rich, but its obvious that i was too lean. i just didnt anticipate how rich i would have to go! most info ive read suggests around a 45-48 pilot with a 150 main. this is just too lean for me and is actually unuseable!
just shows how restrictimg the 26mm mikunis are, my bike had all this potential sitting there unable to access it!
I actually cannot believe how this thing pulls with this carb, it is actually quite scary on the dirt. bottom end is HUGELY improved and there is a disctict hit when in comes on the pipe and it just doesnt stop. before i could top it out on the place i was tuning but now i just run out of space and its still hauling!
even my brother who has a quick YFZ was blown away. he came back from riding the blaster and said, "Man things thing is almost as quick as my bike!!"
for the 1st time since the 1st time i rode a blaster i am genuinely impressed and wowed!
Man, it was worth the effort, jetting is for the birds but sure does pay off.
