As some of you may remember, i had a thread a while back http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-13/oko-no-go-41056/

well, i got my keihin JJH needle in the post and moved up to a 52 pilot. after some testing, i was no better off, i swapped to the Banshee stock needle as a test and still no result, so back to the JJH on its richest clip, and the 52 pilot all the way in ---BAM that worked!

if i back off the pilot more than 1/4 turn i cant pull off and have the bog. so im going to put in a 58pilot and see how that runs. ive found the problem is at the transistion between pilot and needle circuits, so a fat pilot will sort me out.

as for mains, i ran a 155 and felt it was a tad lean, next best i had was a 168, runs great on that but it feels a bit creamy/flat, so ordered a 160, 162, 165.

So that should get me going perfectly.

all along i was under the impression i was too rich, but its obvious that i was too lean. i just didnt anticipate how rich i would have to go! most info ive read suggests around a 45-48 pilot with a 150 main. this is just too lean for me and is actually unuseable!

just shows how restrictimg the 26mm mikunis are, my bike had all this potential sitting there unable to access it!

I actually cannot believe how this thing pulls with this carb, it is actually quite scary on the dirt. bottom end is HUGELY improved and there is a disctict hit when in comes on the pipe and it just doesnt stop. before i could top it out on the place i was tuning but now i just run out of space and its still hauling!

even my brother who has a quick YFZ was blown away. he came back from riding the blaster and said, "Man things thing is almost as quick as my bike!!"

for the 1st time since the 1st time i rode a blaster i am genuinely impressed and wowed!

Man, it was worth the effort, jetting is for the birds but sure does pay off.

Awesome man. Im glad you got yours figured out. Theyre worth it, once you can get them into a ballpark. I just wish we could use each others jetting info but elevation differences between us really screw that up LOL.

@ Luni, ya its worth it, well to a degree you could work it out and factor in the elevation, have you read my elevation sticky in the engine thread? if you take my jetting and plug it into poisuelles formula you will have elevation corrected jetting, you just need to find out what your general air pressure is based on the graph in the post! i can look into it for you!

but what mods are you running?

@ blasty 95: check out http://www.blasterforum.com/suspens...-450-complete-front-suspension-blaster-36120/

I was just reading your other post on this! I got my blaster dyno jetted the guy said he has got the power smoothed out on the dyno but my needle is leaning it out. Anyway how sensitive is it to go to the next up needle? I have a dgk in at the mo but the garage is messing me about said my needles haven't cum yet! First they said Tuesday then Wednesday now Thursday! Anyway glad you got it sorted pal

Mines pretty close, its a tad rich on the pilot, but on the main I think I got it.

But if you want to try and see what jetting I should be based on yours and my elevation, plug in the following:

Mods: Trail port by Ken O Connor. Boyesson ports on intake. Ken O Connor head mod, FMF Gold Fatty pipe with silencer (no spark arrestor), PWK 28mm carb. Stock intake boot modified to fit. Uni style air filter (the filter is actually off a RM250 but it fits properly and is a little bigger than a blaster one so it prolly flows a LITTLE better.

I ride on average at 8000 feet. So, plug that in, and my relative humidity is really low. Temprature in the 70s-80s on average.

See what you come up with for me. Oh yeah, needle is the same as yours, cept I think Im not all the way full rich. My pilot is a 35 I think. My main is a 130.

I'm really close to I took it off again cause I wanted to make shure it was working great internaly and I'm just going to keep it off untill I can pay for new reeds I'm gonna add soon hopefully sounds great manI:I

JJH

J= 3 degree TAPER
J= 25.4mm LENGTH
H= 2.435mm DIAMETER

are you sure its DGK? do you not mean a GKD?

mmm cause keihin do not make a needle with a D taper for the PWK28, they start from G and move to M. guess the PWK35 uses different needles, G is a 3 degree and M is a 3.5 degree taper, so D is a very straight needle with very little taper, meaning its quite a steady/uniform needle, the PWK28 is used on high/fast revving 85's etc which need an aggressive taper to provide enough fuel fast enough for a quick revving small cc bike.
