hey all, new to this site, not new by any means
to forums or motor sports.

i picked up a 660 raptor a few weeks ago for me,
and just got a blaster in a box for my son tonight.

$100.00! rolling chassis with 4 excellent tires. all plastic in great shape,
crank is locked up tight as cathlolic nun.

im gonna get into it tommorow night and see what its gonna need.
seems like everything is here, just gotta dig in.

i'll post up some pics soon, as well as some progress pics.

looks like a nice site you got here

o yea, im a 44 yr old kid,
i ride a 01 660 raptor
a 08 ultra glide harley
my kid is on a 93 lt80 right now
among other toys

welcome dude, watch your bottom end, those 660 raptors are notorious. Welcome to the site though, lots of info for you to get that blasty goin

ive done my homework on the rappy, thanx for the heads up.
i found that wheelies or extensive hill climbing are badddddd! due to the
sump/oil passage design.

at this point im just woods, some hill climbing with my 8 and 11 yr old.

i had 2 other blasters for my daughter, who is 26 now, so im pretty familiar with them. great dependable machines once they are set up.

this one is bone stock with some nice tires/rims on it. prev owner either ran without oil or thought that the oil injection would actually work.

at any rate, the crank is smoked for starters.

i got a good project to get my 11 yr olds hands dirty. told him if he wants it,
he's gotta earn it by helpin every bit of the way on the rebuild. and a blaster in a box is a great start. nice simple engine to work on

welcome bro, try not to catch "the sickness"
and we have a saying here..... pics or your lying !!!!! hahahaaaa

Sounds like it will be a cool project. You should post a topic in the rebuilds section and show us some pics.

Welcome, and good job making your son do the work. My friend just had his dad rebuild his 86' quadsport after sitting for like ten years. Engine rebuild among other things that his dad did. We haven't ridden in two weeks because he's waiting for his dad to clean his carb... He didn't learn one thing from his dad doing all the work.

HAHA. thats cool.
got into it tonight. took a ton of pics, i gota host them somewhere i guess,
not tonight, will do probably tommorow.

the crank is totally smoked, and it wasted the cases too,
nice crack and peel in the back of the chamber into the trans.

also the clutch basket has a busted tab too.

o well, the list has been made, time to shop.

i will post up in the rebuild section, i just gotta host up the pics to i can post um.

thanks for all the warm fuzzy welcomes too.

Welcome, nice project you got going, (and thread). Glad to hear you're going to take your time & rebuild it right! Looks like you have an eager apprentice to do all the dirty work too! lol. :D
