hey im havin more issues today... wish i could call someone or somebody local could come by and check this thing out.. but heres' what i can tell you
Starts up cold fine and easy but runs like trash. Warms up a little and runs OK for a while till it's fully warmed up. When it's warmed up all the way it just quits, and wont start just turns over and backfires once in a while.
NO KNOCKING, PINGING. rotates over fine just wont start.

Sound like it's time to take that carb apart to clean it out.

40:1 is close enough to not have the jetting effected that much...

Well i went out after that last post, fired it up, rode it for about 15 minutes with no problem.

LOL it's running good now, TORS removed and it seems to be ok with the 40:1 gas in it

yea i hate it when things arent running right. i got nervous for a while, thought something got tore up.

Also, painted the gas tank cover and hood blue. not a perfect match, but they're blue now. and shiny haha
should be getting a new hood and tank cover soon anyways, this will work now. heres a pic

Yea I saw the craigslist ad and thought that was your ride. I've got several sets of plastics for sale. Some with new graphics and some w/o, so let me know when you need some parts. We can change the whole look of that thing whenever you want to.

yea its mine. i might be askin a bit much for my parts. <shrug> i dunno.
I'd like to keep it blue, but a actual yamaha blue gas tank cover would be real nice, doesnt need graffix. and i'll be looking for a 03-10 hood as well.

soooooo i was wondering...
it seems when i get really low on fuel, after being on reserve for a while, the quad will just cut off. I look in the tank and theres still a LITTLE BIT of gas in it....
Is this normal? i would think i should be able to run it bone dry, but maybe not...

having more issues. most seem to think its wrong size jetting, but it ran just fine until now.
Its really boggy on low end, misires a bit too. runs super rich on low end as well. once i get the rpms up, it f*cking takes off no problem.
So bogs out and misses at idle speed, runs super at high rpm.

sssoooooooo.... i went and ordered my piston kit today (FINALLY!)... should be here in a couple days.
But, while i had it apart i went ahead and painted the frame a nice fresh coat of metallic silver. i think it looks pretty damn good! Check it out
