Hey ya'll.

Hows it going on this fine day?

Well to start off, im Luke, but most call me Boomer. I work somewhere around 50-60 hours a week, and now ill be riding most of what i dont work.

Im from Minnesota sadly, 20 and this would be my first yamaha product ive ever owned.

2001(i think) blaster 200. Bought it off a co-worker for $300 because he didnt ride it anymore and something about an oil leak. Well, $40 later, cleaned carb and new plug, she started up in two kicks and hasnt leaked oil. Althogh i do have a broken tie rod end.... and i probably shouldnt have test drove it like that..haha.

anyways, im happy to be a part of this forum and look forward to chatting with everyone and getting some help when it comes to trouble spots.

(sorry if the image is to big, just a question but is the forum pic size 240X...)

Welcome to the forum. the blaster looks pretty good for 300. a few questions for you. what mods are running on it if at all. such as. air filter, reeds, pipe, etc. and if theres any modifications do you know what main jet is in your carb?

i also will suggest a leakdown tester and leak test that motor. either make your own via one of the threads on here or buy one from slickerthanyou(if he still makes them)

Welcome to the forum. Read up on leak down testing, jetting and plug chops. Air leaks and wrong jetting are the most common reasons for blown motors.

Welllll, this isnt my first time around a forum, if you know what i mean ;).

haha, so far currently, STOCK!!!!!!! minus about $30 in stickers.. and new rear tires, not sure of the type.

as far as the carb, no idea. took her off, and brought it to a friend (sells arctic cat stuff) and he cleaned it about probably rebuilt it. as far as pics go, i dont have to many yet besides some of the plastics...

eh, didnt really steer right lol. just kinda kept turning left....still runs good though, and still is fast. even though i never wanted to go higher then 3rd..and if the wheel wouldve buckled....ouch.

That's not to bad of a repair , Whats the plans and the mods ?

As of right now, not to sure.

Plans: Fix the tie rod, get the seat re-upholstered or find a new one. and just putz around the yard/ gravel pits as i dont have any decent trails around here.(flat land + farm feilds = no fun)

As for mods, im thinking fmf fatty pipe, with some silencer, new handle bars, new clutch cable(mines a little loose) hand guards, new front tires...and that should set me as a happy camper.

Edit: Forgot to mention, i ordered a set of tusk tie rods, and ends.
