ok so since i have my idle all screwed up, i am going to follow the instructions given.. the only thing i am confused on is should i lower the idle screw to just barely running prior to adjusting the air screw for a fast idle???
Turn it In to increase your idle about 10% before you play with the air screw. it will mimic the idle that youwant to achieve and helps hearing the high idle of the air screw.
youre trying to tune the carb TO the highest idle (idle air screw), then adjust your idle (screw on top of tors)back to normal or where you want it.
How about a youtube video showing your quad idling and you trying to adjust both, one at a time. Then, after you've got it running the best that you can a little revving, maybe even video of you riding so we can hear what it sounds like
^^^ That would be cool, but it really comes down to a feel thing and a preference of how YOU want the idle. Playing with the air screw just determines if you have the correct pilot jet or not.
Mike, good job on that explanation, you must've been sweating by time you got done with that....from thought and all the typing. LOL.
lol, not sweating, laughing! its hard to type what youre thinking
Well I tried and tried and it just isn't working... the air screw isn't changing the idle at all, except when almost all the way in then it dies out, if I go over 3 turns out it dies out..... it stays idling but when I hit the gas over half throttle it hangs there till I either pull the choke or let the clutch out causing a load then it drops to idle... I just don't get it... I still haven't eliminated the tors though...
I would change the air screw setting, take it for a ride and it wouldn't change the wot mid missing then take off like a bat outta hell..
I took a small vid of the throttle hang ... I will post it up in a little..
Here is this throttle hang up issue...

awesome, thats a big help! is your tors still connected? if not, do you have a good throttle cable? no pinches or hangups in the thumb throttle? cause thats what it sounds like either that or an air leak.
