New Banner Suggestion Poll

I agree with that confusion part, I've done it Blaaster has done it I'm shure si With his Nitro methane dragger has caused a bit of confusion before when he first explaned it as well as bd7 i'm shure, as well as yourself EasyRider76. We've called BS plenty of times. But with this said I mean Ive had newbs be just as confused as trying to find and use the search function as they are with fixing their quads. Longview and Quadrider10 was at first If i'm not mistaken. So I support the Idea of Having a badge like the supporting members and so on do as well.
But I think that the criteria for having these badges. should loosley be that, how often you are on as well as a monthly test of 10 questions some simple stupid questions, and at least IDK 1 super hard /unanserable question developed and agreed apon by the Administrators and the yellow bagded technicans like Flotek, Ken O'connor, and SI and so on (who ever else there is.) I dont remember who else, for these tests to deme acceptable to wear these Trustworthy badges.
Like clock work and if you want to try and apply for the badge you just PM them and they PM you the questions if you pass they tell the adm. and the adm. will deam you your badge and the next month you get a follow up pm on weather or not if you want to reapply. But the length of time that the badge is active can of corse be changed to what ever we deside apoon an a collective of corse.
Yhose are all my thoughts and such I'm totally voteing I'm so psyched

I don't know about a test, we aren't looking for a certification of knowledge, just a acknowledgement of the masses that your responses are Trustworthy and should be trusted a little more. One problem I see with this idea is would the T W be expected to give every possibility to solve a problem? Other than someone giving dangerous suggestions and the poster running out and doing it, most erronious answers get called out. I've seen a few questionable suggestions and might not have commented. Only problem with this poll is it doesn't include my choice, "Don't care/doesn't matter"8-|

Racer51, there would have to be a set number, like supreme court judges. And they would be voted in by the masses, not a silent auction by the Administration. Remember, this is just a banner of Trustworthy, for someone who is online and post whoring for the benefit of the community.

Larry, I don't think they will be expected to give every solution. I think that the solution(s) that they give will be respected and honored as a trustable solution....that's kinda what Trustworthy means. As for Don't car/doesn't matter....that's the gray area where you can elect to not vote.

Well people, I would have to say that before the poll was even finished, the proverbial middle finger from city hall has risen. So, with that said, I'm not wasting anymore time on this subject. I will let the poll play out and if it is a landslide, I grant one of you the honor of presenting it.

I will add this, I see "TECHNICIAN" as a mechanic, someone who works on them all the time and can be condescending on minor dilemmas. I don't always see technicians responding to posts, maybe because the topic is too elementary for them or because they are not online often enough. This is why I saw need for a banner/badge of "TRUSTWORTHY" for someone who responds timely, consistently and is online frequently. Trustworthy is a title of someone who is out for the betterment of a community, who will never steer someone wrong deliberately and has the sound backing of the community....not just a select few.

I agree....that's why I'm just letting it ride now.

Being who I am though, my concern is for the newbs on here or the guys that don't know an M8 from a M10, don't know their pilot valve from their air screw and have a hard time understanding when someone reputable is giving them advice versus someone yanking their chain. I know when I first started, I didn't know Adam from Eve, let alone what all the green and banners was for. I saw technician and thought, wow, they have Yamaha mechanics on here, this must be a good site. Then I saw moderators and admin and supporting member, but nothing made sense as everyone was offering advice. Luckily I know my left handed screw driver from my torque pliers, sarcasm is a second language to me and I'm relatively intelligent and patient, so I could decipher the BS from the notable help. It just would've been a lot more easy had there been something that caught my attention to someone who has been around and gave good general advice. That's all.

I never new that existed until now. Still, for the everyday knuckle buster looking for answers, I don't think they are going to be looking for that either. They just want to get in, get help and get back to riding.

Either way, like I said, I want to leave this poll up just to see where the things lie. It's interesting really, taking a poll of the opinions of the members on such a thing. Who knows, maybe it will shed light on something that is more important...whatever that may be....maybe just the standard of keeping the already created banners should be addressed? We will see in about 19 days.

The only thing i dont agree with is log time everyday. I work a fulltime job and a partime job everyday except weekends. Most days i come home tired and not feeeling like getting on here. But on the weekends im on a little more but still. Some of us having new baby's or familes to take care of and can't get on here everyday. I voted i think it would be a cool idea. My two cents
