Ok, starting a new thread since this is the new carb etc.

Things Ive checked so far
Compression (135psi)
leak down test good
maybe sparkplug is fouled?
TORS removed (2000 blaster)
float level looks right 19-20mm

Current CARB Specs
OKO 30mm carb
Jets in it now 48/150
Idle screw set to hold slide about 1/16 -18" high.

Bike Mods
Bored .2
FMF fatty pipe
Factory 7 Air box
Reed spacer for clutch arm clearence
Vforce 3 reeds.

Video of how its doing.

first half is no throttle, end when it actually sounds like its doing somethign is with throttle all the way in.

ok, so now its about 20 degrees warmer.

I adjusted the float a little bit, and now it seems at like 1/8 throttle its doing pretty good. but its still dieing. its dont the best with a 40 jet. i tryed a 45 adn it was like it was just spinning but wasent trying to fireup.

i also have tryed a 35 jet, and it pretty much was the same as the 40 jet, but was not quit as good.

ok well i went through all my jets, and got the same result with them all.

how can i test to see if im geting a good spark?. I know its sparking, but is it possible that its not geting enough spark to run good?

its very possible also check to make sure your silencer is not plugged up

i'll check to see if the silencers' pluged, but i dont think it is.

idk if this is the proper way to check, but i was thinking i'd just stick a close hanger down in it to see if it hits anything.

Is there a DIY on checking to level of spark?

I may just go ahead and order a replacement one since they are only about 25 bucks on ebay.

im uplading a couple videos i recorded of it. I can hear it sparking, but only really saw it spark once. but it may be too much paint on the frame, and no ones here to hold the phone so they are pretty crapy videos....

make sure u have a good ground up by the ground wire under the hood and the ground wire by the coil also ohm the spark plug wire cap and coil do a search for the specs

is it not too rich on pilot? it sounds like it is to me. i dont think its your spark. you can hear it clearly and since you have just installed a new carb and the bike was running before, im pretty certain thats the cause. turn the adjust the air screw and fiddle around. just make sure all the jets are clear and that your fuel line is clear and turned on!

That sounds like an ignition problem.

I mean that jetting might be a little on the rich side but it should definitely run like that, not just pop over and act stupid.

You might want to get out your multi meter and check the wires coming out from the stator for their proper specs. Make sure you don't have a hard part issue. Also, have you checked your flywheel key? That popping like that seems like it might be firing off time.

I agree with you it sounds rich but his jetting isn't THAT rich. It should be close enough to run.

The only thought I have is an ignition problem causing the misfire. Either the trigger coil causing problems or the flywheel key sheared.

ok, but if it was running and all he did was change a carb then it doesnt make sense.things dont just break. but he's jetting isnt way off i do agree

it wasnt running right before he got this carb, thats why he did
and he already checked/replaced the flywheel key, i'm also leaning toward bad ground, or coil/cdi/stator issue

well i dotn think its a bad ground, Ive never removed any of the groundign wires, and they all seem tight to me.

I havent checked the flywheel, but im pretty sure 1bad442 would have told me it was bad before sellign it to me.

Im thinking about going ahead and geting a new COIL/plug combo.

Would i be better off buying an AMR coil, or going with a stock one? i could not find any nology ones.

looks like im goign to buy the original wireing harness with ignition system from 1bad442. Hopefuly with this i'll be up and running.

Not recalling if I've read your other threads I don't know what your original problem is. Reguardless you need to hold the plug on a bare metal surface on the engine to check spark, it should be blue not orange or yellow. Check wireing and grounds. Just because bolt is tite doesn't mean good ground. Check that the coil has bare clean metal ground ,no rust. Check the ground from stator is clean. If plug is wet try another plug, reguardless if it's new. Pull plug boot and cut 1/4 inch off and reinstall. Almost sounds like you're just throwing parts at it untill you find the right one. Have you ohmned the coil and stator?

Pulled the grounds, sanded the aresa around them.

to be clear, its just 2 grounds right? the one under the hood, and the one on the coil?

new video coming shortly.
