ok i have a yamaha blaster and it doesnt seem to be running right and i wanted some thoughts on my situation. it doesnt like to build rpms at lower speeds it bogs until you get moving a little faster then out of nowhere it builds rpms and scoots. it doesnt like to move a constant speed it either wants to haul ass or slow down. any thoughts? i dont know too much about two stroke.

What kind of mods does it have? Has it been sitting for awhile? Have you cleaned the carb? Have you tried a new plug? What kind of jetting does it have? It kinda sounds like the carb is dirty, or it could be jetted way to rich on the lower circuits.

ok i bought it like this. bored 60 over, gold series fmf fatty, keihn carb and no airbox it just has a k&n directly on the carb and yes it sat for about six months because i had to pull the engine and rebuild the transmission and i didnt clean the carb before i put it on because i was excited

i think from reading this your hitting the powerband which is when your engine hits a certain rpm range and bounces back unburned fuel back into the cylinder from the exhaust thats why 2 strokes have a big expansion chamber for a pipe it perfectly normal though it wouldnt hurt to clean the carb

really then i hate two stroke because that does not feel right at all and i have to be full throttle in first and second to get any power at all... it blows

lol, thats funny stuff right there. two stroke power delivery is addicting once you learn how to use it. if you ride like a little biotch and putt around a 2 stroke is garbage, but man up and start getting on it and its time to fly.I:I

i am having the same problem. i have a 240 kit with 330 main now and i cleaned my carb. i even used a different carb that i know was clean and same problem. i need to do a plug chop, but havent got around to it. but i did notice a couple days ago, i tightened all my head bolts and my problem was solved for about 20 minutes. now doin the same thing

well yea its nice when i wanna haul some ass but trying to trail ride on that thing is a biotch.

You shouldn't have to go to full throttle in 1st and 2nd to get moving. Once the power comes in, 1st and 2nd should be wheelies at full throttle.

It sounds like you need to pull the carburetor apart and clean it thoroughly. Focusing on the pilot holes leading back into the body of the carburetor towards the engine.

Once you know everything is spick and span clean, you can begin to actually diagnose a carburetor problem. If you have a dirty carb you can't tell anything for sure.
