got it local from a friend/fellow powersportjunkies member. traded a complete banshee engine and some extra parts (so he could complete his banshee). this bike is all there plus some extra parts (which i will sell, PM me) started out a "quick redo" and ended up a nightmare/money pit. theres a stuck cylinder stud in 1 case side. thats getting fixed. all the engine bearings will probly need replaced. along with seals. the frame was painted a wierd blue, so i painted the 1 side case to match (as close as possible). there were a bunch of polished parts too that my buddy did. stator cover, thumb throttle, water pump cover, 1 carb bowl (came with 2 carbs). also came with 2 pairs ITP 8" wheels.

so far mods include:
misc polished parts
psi pipe/turbine core silencer
porting
custom cut head (soon)
v-force 2 reeds

future mods include:
burgard antivibe stem
billet basket/tusk clutch
+4 axle
rebuilt rear shock for my weight and ride style
+2+1 arms
new front shocks
straight style seat (85-86) cut like a trx250r

pics so far

Money piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you had to do that here and http://www.powersportjunkies.com too didnt you, 370? yes a money pit. but i like em. hahahaha see if i cant get it to stay together...

i'd be happy if it was half as reliable as my shee. 1 kick to start, runs great...can't beat that!!

Looks like a fun project.
fun? not the word...unless your meaning of fun is a disappointment at every turn cuz you found out more money comes out of your pocket to fix what some other dumbshit didnt do the right way.......teh fun comes after i fix that...but yes. a "fun project" ill have fun riding it....

i like the LT250r. i used to have an 87 ported with an fmf pipe. was quick. we'll see how this turns out, its already looking nicer. wish i had pics of that old 87...

fixing stuff is fun, i agree. just not used to replacing that many parts. my banshee was a complete rebuild, and there seemed to be a lot less parts to replace..hahaha anyways its a ne project that will be tons of fun when its finished...figured i'd share it with you guys....

around here its impossible to get parts for an lt. my buddy sold his about 8 months ago, and its on craigslist again. apparently whoever bought it found out it was impossible to get parts as well. good luck though. theyre sweet

If it needs new A arm bearings look into the bushing replacements... way cheaper! and probably easier too. my bearings were rusted in there... sucked. Mine is up and running like a champ though.

youi just gotta know how to buy the bearings..

yea my buddy bought a mint 85 (still has the black EPA sticker on it). anyways the motor is blown so im building it for him and holy sh!t the motor is put together like a damn rolex. he bought one befor to rebuild and we threw the frame away it was all cracked to hell. IMO i hate them they suck im yamaha all the way! sounds like the kinda money pit my banshee has turned into.

the 250's aren;t as bad as the 500's for vibration... alot of that vibration your dealing wiht may be thta the counter balancer is off a tooth

i've found a TON of parts that are still made for this. some really expensive, some not. hell if i had the cash, i could have teh smae parts my banshee has on this LT. eventually thats my plan....anyways, this is the 2nd LT250R i've owned and had to do a bunch of work to. also the 4th suzuki to grace it presence in 370/my shop. (2 LT500R's 2 LT250R's) we are mostly yamaha guys, but we enjoy every 2 stroke in its own glory of some way. such as tecates-sort of a cool/ugly bike also very rare. banshees-easy to work on/make fast..and fast they are. honda trx250r-history tells all, suzuki 250/500-another sort of rare bike that is another fun toy and a rival of another bike we have in some way

then there are trikes...but those are crazy fun n their own anyway....we love em all!!
