Just wondering if any anyone has a low end port job . Do you lose all you topend power? I dont race but like ridiing on the tracks at the parks. And the rest of my riding is trails no drag racing unless one of my buddies gets cocky. Just trying to decide. (and get my post count up lol)
Thanks

mx porting has a fat mid range and a diecent low end. it just directs the power in a more usable range. it will make trail riding a blast since you will have power on demand and not have to wait for the power band to hit

to truely get a low end motor, you need a pipe to go with the porting.. no one to my knowledge makes that pipe so it would have to be a one off. Honestly i think you wuld be better off with a midrange motor. I have ridden a purpose built low end 250r before, and it would be a biotch to ride on a track. It was geared tall, felt slow and you had to majorly short shift, but when you hit 6th gear you felt like hans solo making the jump to warp speed. it pulled tall gears like no tomorrow.

What about the high volume dynoport?

What about the high volume dynoport?

/\/\/\ top end pipe, as are all the right bends, talk to kgibson, he just used an fmf for his sons mx blaster and i believe liked the low to mids on it
and my ken oconnor racing port job pulls hard everywhere and i believe it is mx based, he's been doing mx bike motors for years

yup, i'd say ken would be the guy to talk to for that kind of a motor.

and the FMF is a good low end pipe, i really love my F7 but i ride it wide open most of the time....

kgibson uses the dynoport now tho, I believe. Dedicated MXer tho, he would have good advise for you.

I run a mid-range port. It still has decent low (now that it is jetted properly) with great mid and top.

Thanks for the replys guys. I thought the high volume pipe was for low end???
Ken said that trail and MX are 2 different things. im sure he will tell me which one to get when i send him my engine. Just wanted some opinoins

is he back to a dynoport? i know they put an FMF on it

Still use the FMF I:I Still love it and it's the best for lowend to mid with our port work and intake setup. The dyno port high volume had pretty good lowend but there is a simple trick you can do to them and make the bottom end better. Pm me if ya get the pipe and I'll tell the deep dark secret :D

why didnt we get this deep dark secret:p8-|

Well thanks guys. I dont know what pipe i will get. If i have to buy a new one ill get a F7 or dynoport. But if i find a deal on ebay on a fmf or domething ill do that. Anythings better than a rusty DG with holes in it...

i thought we were leaning towards the toomey for your setup and tuning abilities ???
