Whats up Blasterforum!!! First and foremost I would like to thank everyone for all the awesome and helpful knowledge, advice, and tips. Finally got a chance to test the bike with all the goodies ordered!!! Now for my question, I will be deploying at the end of Aug for 3 months. What would you recommend I do for long term storage, please keep in mind my Blaster will be garaged during the duration of my deployment. Is there anything specific that needs to be done to ensure it stays healthy upon my return???

hi mate when i leave my 2 strokes over the winter i drain the fuel and 2 stroke or in my case now i premix so i train the tank completely. i could only think of fuel as 2 stroke tends to go off after a while and it makes 2 strokes alot harder to start.

Still running the oil pump and tank (for now) have oil block off kit going to install when I get back. So drain gas in tank and 2 cycle oil in rear under seat tank, anything else?

i'd drain the fuel from the tank, and also from the carb, the oil in the crankase and oil injection tank will be fine left alone
be safe during your deployment

Definetly drain gas tank! and I would clean carb and put back on clean!

Leave the oil in it!

I was just thinking, when I get back what precautions or steps should I take to prep to start and warm up after 3 months???

After a few months of standing the bore will possibly be dry of oil, and also the bearings will have drained as well.

Take out the plug and drop about a teaspoon of 2 stroke oil in the plug hole, this will give the rings some lubrication.

With the plug out kick the motor over about 20 times, and the accumulated oil in the crancase will be then thrown around to bathe the crank pins and main bearings.

Replace the plug and start the motor, be prepared to change the plug as it may foul.

Grease the suspension, lubricate the chain and cables.

Sup fella's, so got back from some crazy off road trail riding yesterday here in Guam during wet season and I kept getting hung up on the ruts cause of my extended axle. So the bikewas covered in Guam red dirt and I washed it thourgly and stripped her down and cleaned everywhere I could. I stripped the carb and cleaned all the jets and carb body, drained all the gas in the tank, lubricated the chain, lubed the cables, shot grease in the zerks and put a teaspoon of 2 cycle oil in the head and cranked it 20 times to cycle the oil through the crank. Tomorrow going to clean the plastics and put her on my jack in the corner of the garage. Is there anything else I missed???

Drain the gas, plug the silencer ,lube the chain well and block it up so you take the weight off the tires. When a tire sits with no air on the ground for a long time, it tend to want to hold the shape of the flat spot and makes it harder to reseat the tire if it unseats.

Well she all cleaned up and prepped for a 3 month hibernation period
