Anyone else grow up playing with Legos? When i was young, i would play with legos so much it was crazy. I recently found a big tote full from when i was a kid and pulled them out. My daughter loves it. I started searching Ebay for lego sets, and man there expensive! Or maybe it was because i never bought em and got sets for bday/xmas.

I loved them as a kid. I still have mine, but my kids never got into it like I did. If it does'nt run on batteries or Wi-Fi they have no interest.

Lol i wanna see this.

thats all i did as a wee boy. 24/7 in my room making things. my dad gave me a room in our house that i could devote to knex, so i made a full size roller coaster, tilta whirl, and a sky coaster. the roller coaster measured 12' long, 5-6'high. every single last part was made from a knex piece. none of that plastic cheap pieces that they include in the kits today. even the car its self was made from my hands and knex. wasent already built. it consisted of a 3' high loop, and some really steep banks. the car just "sat" on the tracks. held on the tracks by gravity and gravity only. when wheels were made out of the plastic wheels and tires.

i also made some thousand different cars, and trucks, some other amusement park rides, ball drops, guns, pinball machines, and some lego mindstorm things. with mindstorm, i made a fully functional robot with head, arms, and legs. then programmed it on the computer to do various tasks walk and run, also made a robotic arm do do similar tasks but stationary.

ill post a pic of the gun and robotic arm since those are the only things left standing.

No wonder I feel retarded, all I had was Lncoln Logs, but then again I also had a real lead casting set, could make army guys and stuff.

Remember the big kit of metal parts that you bolt together to build stuff ? The one with the long metal flat pieces that you could impale yourself with ? Lol.

this ain't the lego's i had as a kid,
this is a local guy, he builds these and auctions them off for charity, there was an article in our local newspaper this past week..........

Erector Sets!! I used to have one. I never could get the hang of it. I was too young at the time (5 years old) to be dealing with all those smalll nuts and bolts.

I still have my Legos from when I was a kid in the closet in the other room. Since I've always been interested in mechanical stuff, my mom used to buy me a new Technic set (with the motors and gears) for Christmas every year. I still have a lot of the sets I played with as a kid.

I also loved the old Tyco slot-car sets you could buy and put together. My brother and I would race each other and gun the cars going up the wall, only to watch them fly right off the track. Good times. I:I

Oh, and I built this just the other week.

I think I'm always gonna love K'nex. Yes, I'm almost 23 and I still play with it sometimes.

So many good toys of the past to inspire creativity. I had lego's, lincoln logs, erector set, and remember that plastic engine that you put together and ran.

I still have a big box of Legos, i guess I'm still only 14 but they are fun if i feel like playing with them. I got a little car kit and we crashed it so much i could build it without any directions lol

I remember all these toys growing up. I keep saying when I visit home I'm going to dig them all out for my kids. But like someone said, if it doesn't have batteries or wifi they don't care. My boy does have some cool legos, though.

Oh, and stepping on a lego piece in the dark still hurts just as much as it did years ago.
