So I was riding my 92 blaster that I just picked up. And in 5th or 6th gear she knocks after about 1/2 throttle. I am not sure how old the gas is so I was thinking that the octane is down not sure if had premium in it to start. Otherwise she sound right. Any thoughts?

Plug chop to confirm that you have it jetted correctly.

Check the needle setting.

Any new acquisition of a 2 stroke should be leak tested before it is ridden.

Plug chop? Check needle setting? I am not a mechanic can you put that in layman's terms. Our you talking about compression leakage. Can you elaborate.

plug chops to confirm main jetting is correct:

the slide in the carb has an adjustable needle that controls 1/4 - 3/4 throttle jetting as it slides up and down in the needle jet.
the stock setting is clip in the middle (3rd) slot position, certain pipes and very high or low temps and elevations are the only reason i know of that the clip should be moved to lower/raise the needle to richen/lean the needle jetting.
very rarely will a stock carb/engine need anything but the stock needle.

a proper, full cleaning of the carb should include removing the needle jet for cleaning of the small holes it has along it's sides.

Get some fresh gas first before riding again. I have had some real issues with old gas...
